Update on DDP--more restaurants participating in 2007

The way I understand it, only a couple are... for example, Le Cellier and Rose & Crown. I think all the ones that weren't on when the initial 2007 DDP brochure came out were all non-Disney.

That is correct. Most of them are not owned by Disney.

Perhaps you'd enjoy a restaurant where they specialized in sour grapes?

So more people are getting to enjoy Disney's restaurants and you can't just walk in. Perhaps you'd also prefer a return to the A-E ticket system, so that only those who can afford to can ride the good rides and you won't have to wait in line for Space Mountain or Rock 'n' Rollercoaster? Or should they just keep raising prices to cut down on the demand? Sorry, Disney's a busy place and you can't expect to walk into Le Cellier with no wait any more than you should expect to be able to book Christmas at Grand Floridian on December 20th.

The only other reason to complain about the DDP is the changing menus, but menus changed plenty before the DDP, as well, and will keep changing in the future.

But that's a whole different tangent that has no place in this thread.

I was hoping that they'd be subtracting restaurants on this plan, not adding them.

My complaint is the dumbing down of the Disney menus. Just look at what's happened to Olivia's menu! No more conch, no more key lime pies! And no more takeout. It's a travesty.

That is just really interesting!!! I just learn something new all the time!!

So, here's the question....why would WDW not WANT to own them? I mean...talk about a "captive audience"!! Those restaurants are full from open to close. It would be any "real world" restaurant's dream....so, why do you think WDW leases them out?
