Things continue to go very, VERY well..
Earlier this afternoon it was decided that only she and her DH would be in attendance at the Family Meeting this afternoon.. (After all, it was his FIRST experience hearing all that needed to be said by a professional and he may have been reluctant to open up with someone else in the room..) That was fine with me -and actually something I had been worried about last night..
So - the meeting took place and I just got off the phone with him a little while ago.. The absolute turn-around in him is astounding!! Serious progress was made today for all concerned.. Some of my DD's issues were validated, but so were some of my SIL's.. He has agreed to long-term counseling for the two of them and whatever else is necessary to insure my DD's recovery.. (He has always been adamant about NO counseling..) He is not just "going along" with all of this - he is 100% sincere and has finally acknowledged that depression is REAL - an honest-to-goodness medical condition..
The sad part for my DD is that the doctor and the social worker are both in agreement that her JOB is playing a HUGE role in her depression and there needs to be some changes made.. Unfortunately, because she is such a compassionate person, she gives those girls and her job 100% - which leaves nothing else for herself, her husband, her family, or her marriage.. So - she either needs to set some firm limits and stick to them (which at this point I don't really think she's able to do) or she will have to resign.. That will be an extremely bitter pill for her to swallow..
Also, her supervisor at work - as well as her staff under her - have started to bombard my SIL's answering machine with demands of wanting to know what is going on - specifically what her medical condition is - when she is coming back to work - etc.. So - I think she is going to have to go ahead and talk to the doctor about preparing the necessary ground work for the FMLA..
Please keep the prayers and PD coming.. So far it's working miracles!
Thanks all!
