Update on Christian and request...

Several weeks ago I posted about a little boy in my classroom who was diagnosed with leukemia. The good news is that he has the most treatable form but obviously still faces a long difficult battle. His mom reports that he is eating well and has lots of energy. He was able to spend a night at home in his own bed on Wednesday but is now back at Mass General.

Last week I sent him a large stuffed Mickey which he adores. Obviously his teacher's love of all things Disney has rubbed off on him! I am now putting together a "Mickey" package for him and I wanted to include a few bars of Mickey soap in it. Since I have stayed at SOG my last 2 visits I am out of soap. I tried to buy a few bars on eBay but the prices are really a little crazy. I am hoping that several of you wonderful Dis'ers might be willing to part with a bar. I would happily reimburse you for the shipping costs.

Many of you have offered to send cards which I greatly appreciate but his mom is hesitant to let me release his name. The "internet" thing unfortunately scares her which I can certainly understand. I do thank you for all your prayers to help this precious little guy. Hopefully he will be back home soon although the doctors have told his mom that he will not be able to return to school this year.

I just wanted to sincerely thank all of you who have responded to my request. I'm sure Christian will be thrilled with the soap. He is the kind of little boy who is appreciative of everything. I know seeing Mickey on his soap will bring a smile to his face.
