cancelling trip?

EDITED cancelling trip?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

does Airtran give credit for future use? My wife broke her foot in 2 places and Doc thinks we should cancell trip in 2 weeks. No walking on it for 6 weeks.
We will know thursday if she needs surgery.
Our 1st DEC trip to see the lights and christmas things and it will be to much for her at this time.
Our flight down with SW will be no problem to change and my pts for DVC will go into holding but I can use them for FEB trip.
We have tickets to MVMCP at willcall at BWV. for Dec 2. Do you think we can get money back on these tickets?

We paid $63 each on Airtran one-way and I think they charge $75 to make change. guess we will just not show up for flight.

any suggestions?

UPDATE

CANCEL DEC TRIP ,GOT PTS BACK IN HOLDING STATUS.
Got credit back for MVMCP on DEC 2nd
Got ticketless funds from S/W back to use later
Now will wait to cancel Airtran in a couple days because they changed my ressie 2 times and maybe will again then I just ask for a credit.

Just call Airtran today DEC 2 and asked for a credit because my DW broke her foot. At first the lady said it would be a $75 fee each ticket. I said we have to cancell because of injury to wife and I would send doctor note. She went to check and came back and said she got the OK to waive the fee and put to credit on my A+ card to use by July 26 ,2009. It's only 7 months but that's OK with us, we will use it in May. We like Airtran and will still use them and SW only. Low price wins.

if air trans changed your flight you actuall can call them and complain that the time differnce doesnt work for you. you should be able to get a full credit back. airtrans broke the contract when they changed your flight.

Sorry to hear you had to cancel your trip. Sending your wife pixie dust for a speedy recovery pixiedust: and wishing you a magical trip in Feb.

I had airtran for my flight and had to cancel due to medical reasons. Call them and explain that, and they will ask for a doctors note. That will waive the $75 fee. You'll get a credit that has to be used within 1 year of the date you made the reservation. (you don't need to fly by then, you just need to book a new reservation by then.) Also Disney may take your points out of holding if you explain that the reason for cancellation due to doctors orders.

Doe anyone know if this goes for all credits? i have 104 dollars sitting in a fund to use and I won't be flying until June. As long as I book before April (when the funds run out) am I good to go or do I actually have to fly by April?

Southwest makes you TRAVEL by the date of ticket purchase.....this is great if Airtran actually just lets you BOOK by the purchase date! Never heard of this before.

It's nice that the airline was willing to work with you, and that you have another trip planned!
