Well, I'm no longer pregnant. I thought it might take since I got pretty sick right away. But it was not to be. It's one of those sad but glad things. I really didn't want to do middle of the night feedings at age 45.
BUT, now I am determined to run the full marathon in january. Funny that running my first marathon at 45 seems much less daunting than having a baby at 45. I would have been due the week of the marathon--weird. I guess I needed a little perspective to realize I could run it.
So, I'm lining up my races for the fall, but I'll wait to try a full until the Disney in January. I might try the wine and dine. My SIL wants to do the relay with me and let me do the longer half. That would be fun. And I have a half scheduled in September and November.
The hardest part is that I think I need to get some more weight off to run a full. I lost 70 lbs last year, but I think I'd do much better if I lost another 30. And I'll have to do more weight training. Sometimes on my long runs (12+ miles) my upper back and shoulders start to give out. I'm sure lifting would help that.
So, tomorrow I start training for real. 237 days and counting...
