My regrets, as I have tried to understand but have a bit of confusion!

I made a room only reservation for 10 nights, and was told about MDE and making fastpass+ ressies 60 days out.

I signed in to MDE and there are two two day tickets listed for each member of my party (somehow, from previous trips.)

DD and I are taking a YES class and bought 7 day tickets, but I was going to upgrade a ticket for my mom on arrival, which clearly won't be adequate IF we all want to prebook Fastpasses together. :(

QUESTION (thanks for being patient!): since we each have 4 days of ticket media available in our MDE account (pp), is it possible for me to purchase an additional three day ticket to add to my mom's name (to be upgraded later) and make fastpass+ choices for us all for 7 days, or will I neeed to buy a 7 day for mom before the 60 day window?

THANK YOU!:cheer2: (Sorry to be long winded!...and I do not understand why they won't let you upgrade tickets in your MDE account over the phone?...they take my money for the room just fine!)pirate:

Hopefully someone can help you out but I haven't seen a post from Cheshire Figment in months. I am not sure he visits the boards anymore. I know there was a thread regarding information about him but I think anyone knew anything.

This is easier than it sounds. Having a ticket of ANY length allows you to make FastPass selections 30 days out from today. Having a Disney resort reservation gives you a 60-day window (+ length of stay) before your resort stay to make FP selections.

Now, each person in your group needs to have a ticket, but again, that ticket can be of any length. Your two-day tickets should work (as long as they're unused, or used for the same guest) just fine for that purpose.

To clarify, though...you can only make FP+ reservations for the same number of days as you have park tickets. So if you have 2 day tickets, you can make two days of FP+, 7 days of tickets gives you 7 days of FP+ selections. And that's per person. So you can't have one 7 day ticket for one person and expect to be able to make FP+ reservations for everyone in your party if they don't also have 7 days of tickets in MDE.

Also, once a ticket is linked to a person in MDE it can't be unlinked and reassigned to someone else, which is what the OP appears to want to do with her mother (if I'm reading the post correctly).

Thanks for the clarification. Yes, you can pick any of the 30 days, but you're limited to the total number of days on your tickets.

Are the existing tickets in the MDE account unused? If so, then they can be reassigned between people in your account. I had a 2-day ticket from a February trip in MDE that I didn't use. In planning for our upcoming May trip, I reassigned it to DH so that I would have ticket/park days for him in scheduling our FP+. I could reassign it to any of my other family members at any time (if I didn't have to worry about losing his FP+ reservations, at least). We also have partially-used no expiration tickets in my MDE account, and those cannot be reassigned.

OP here: thanks to everyone trying to help!:grouphug:

each member of our party has two unused two day tickets in their name.(That's 12 days all together.)

(We do not plan to use any of these tickets on this trip.)

I purchased 2 7 day tickets because my DD and I are taking a YES class, and they require you to purchase through the education department.

I want to make FP+ reservations for 3 people (was given wrong information when making my room reservation and thought I could upgrade one of the tickets when we arrived....BTW...I did not put the tickets in MDE: they were there when I signed up for MDE:confused3)

From what people above had said, could I reassign 1 two day ticket to my mom, so there are 6 unused ticket days in the account (across 3 tickets,) and make 6 days of FP+
reservations for her
(upgrading that third assigned ticket upon arrival, after using it once) and retain the 6 FP+ reservations and two reassignable tickets in her account) or do I need to purchase a separate 6 day ticket prior to arrival to put in her account, for the purpose of making FP+ reservations for the 3 of us?

Sorry for the complicated question!

TIA!:flower3:

I believe that As long as you have the number of days worth of park passes in the account assigned to your mother, you should be able to make that many days worth of fp+ for her... But there is speculation as to whether you would be able to reassign the tickets.

Policy I believe is that tickets are non transferable. That being said, I have multiple tickets in my MDE account for my upcoming trip and I have the option to reassign... Though I have not actually tried it. Also, if you reassign it once, there's a chance you won't be able to get it back to whom it came from... If that makes sense.

Additionally, you would want to prioritize the tickets outside of the park before you try to enter, so that you are sure that the new ticket is the one that she uses so that you can upgrade it, and then once it's in that first slot I think you should be fine. Otherwise I believe the first ticket assigned would be the first ticket used.

Acts my thought. Honestly, you won't know for sure until you try it. My guess would be that if you call someone official they will tell you tickets can't be reassigned and you should just buy the ticket you want outright if you want to link it and make fp+ choices. At the very least if you get her a 3 day ticket you'll get three days worth of prebookings and can do the rest once the ticket is upgraded. It's my understanding that there are still respectable options even the day before.

I was just on the phone with a very sweet CM, and she had no idea either, but she is going to ask someone to get back to me to try to clarify the situation.

...the saga continues.:yoda:

Sorry to say that you are now embarked on a dangerous path to finding good information.

Calling "Disney" is about the least reliable source of information regarding park operations.
(No, I'm not kidding.)

Please be sure to post back after the CM gets back to you and we'll all take a look at the info offered to you.

I thought the policy was 'not transferable after first use' ...?

I think you should be able to do what you want to do but have no proof and have not tried it yet...

Good luck!

Haven't gotten a call back yet!...I kinda gave in, and bought a third YES ticket, just to quash my stress about it all, but I am still in pursuit of an answer, and will post when (seems like IF) I get one!

Thank you everyone for trying to help me! :dogdance::cheer2::dogdance::cheer2::dogdance:

It just seems like the information is in some giant mud puddle, with lots of "should works" and "think sos" and "I'm not sures" that IF I want my ever-more-expensive trip to be close to how I want it, I had just better suck it up!:worried:

THANK AGAIN!!!!!!!!:bitelip:

I promised I'd update if I got any official clarification, so here goes!...

You can reassign any unused tickets to another member in your friends and family. ( The one caveat is that if THEY have a MDX account with that ticket listed, you lose control of the ticket....If it is only in your MDX account, you can keep reassigning it, so long as it is not used.)

If I assign 3x 2 day tickets to my mom, I can make 6 days of Fastpass+ reservations for her[ then I can upgrade the one ticket she uses WHICH WILL THEN HAVE A NEW NUMBER, and I need member services to link it to the MDX account right away (not a day later) so she can maintain those Fastpass+ reservations.

The person I spoke with was "Ahura," really! And she said the number for Disney Internet Help was 407 939-7765. I hope this helps somebody else! If you have any related questions, PM me, as I asked a lot of questions while I had her.

You're welcome. Unused is the key word here. Once a ticket has been used, it is non-transferable. But any new, unused ticket can be "assigned" to a family or friend in your account and reassigned as needed. Once they use a day, it's tied to them for life (or until the ticket expires).
