I got to the gates at 7:17, which is about as fast as anyone can get there from M&Fs (I was the first on the tram walkway there). Despite this, the lines were already at least seven people deep. That made me wonder if today would be especially busy. Rope drop also felt crammed. However, as the day wore on, crowds never felt too thick.

I was first on PP and for the second week in a row, I wasn’t aware of anyone running. I was with some friends at the rope and they came and joined me and we shared a galleon :-).

The past week has been really good for me and a number of cool things happened. In an apparent continuation of that trend, I scored a whopping 2,096,100 on my very first round of Buzz! What’s good about that is, as many of you know, if you exceed 2,096,900 (or somewhere around there. No one seems to know the exact number), your score will reset. So right out of the gate I got virtually the highest score possible, a score which was exceptionally unlikely to be beaten. A few rides later I broke 2M again, so it was a great day, Buzz-wise.

Around 10:30 I rode Pirates, which was perhaps a seven-minute wait. Overall, it was a good day.

One interesting thing I learned: I spoke with a friend who’s a security CM. He told me that about 95% of his time is devoted to answering various park questions for guests. The remaining 5% is consumed by removing problematic guests. He also mentioned that geocaching is becoming increasingly popular at the park and today someone had removed a brick on or near Main Street and hid some cash beneath it. They’re not happy with guests doing that sort of thing, as you might imagine.

I’ve got park maps, if anyone would like a set. Simply message me with your preferred mailing address (domestic only, please... unless you can make a compelling case).

If I had to guess, the maximum possible score for Astro Blasters would be 2097100. The reason for this is because if 21 bits is used to store your score (or only the last 21 bits are used when retrieving your score to display), the maximum would be 2,097,151. Since you can only get points in Astro Blasters in increments of 100, that makes the maximum 2097100.

Not having enough bits to store a number is a common issue in computer science and people may remember when the view count for Gangnam Style exceeded the 32 bits Youtube was using to store view counts so they stopped the view counter to upgrade the backend.

Sounds like a great day! Thanks for sharing your photos - they are great as usual. It's lovely to be able to see the park in your photos - it's been a while for me and likely to be quite a while longer till I get back so I like seeing them and reading about your day.
Cheers : )

That was a brilliant bit of reasoning, I'm sure you're correct. Well done.

As a retired computer science nerd, I wonder how they came up with using 21 bits to store the score. Seems like an odd choice.

Love all your pictures and your park report. Sharing your pictures with my Granddaughters .... we'll be there in December ! We're so excited.... we can finally say "We're going next month" ! Reading over your tips and strategies for Buzz, hopefully my mind doesn't go blank when its time to ride & play. Love seeing all the Holiday pictures ❤🎄

That’s so logical that I’m questioning the high score of 10million+ I saw one time (must have been an opportune breakdown/a retirement home getting on board at the same time)

In your picture of the Tigger Tails, it looks like those are the original style with orange chocolate and not the new way they had started making them with some type of orange sugar. Are my eyes deceiving me, or did they change it back?

Thanks for the great pictures & report. That rope drop crowd looks huge! Glad it wasn't too crowded once you got inside. PP is my favorite ride. That's so fun you were first in line. I haven't managed that, yet.

Thanks for sharing these awesome photos and insights!
Quick question, where are those buckets of buttons and which ones are available each day?

Thanks in advance :)

There didn't used to be a cap on high scores. They imposed it for some reason about four years ago. So, yes: in the past, scores of 10M were possible. I can only guess that they placed a cap on it so that people wouldn't get discouraged when they scored 80,000 and then saw the top score was 9M (or something).

The ones yesterday were, I'm pretty sure, made with orange chocolate. But I think I've seen the ones made with orange sugar recently so I suspect they do both (on different days, presumably).

It did feel a little crowded at rope drop, certainly more so than Halloween, surprisingly. But that's happened a few times since the park reopened but once the rope dropped and crowds dispersed, it didn't feel too bad. It might be difficult to adjust to regular, un-capped crowds whenever that restriction is removed.

Thank you. I will have to check this out later this month. They used to be my favorite, until the change. I will be super excited if they have gone back to the original recipe on even a few days!

Those are just outside of City Hall. I think all of the main buttons are there: birthday, first visit, "I'm celebrating..." and a fourth. Can't remember what that one is, though :-).

Any tips for increasing a score? I am one of the people who never even comes close to those types of scores.
