Requesting help regarding obscure Chex Mix recipe

Do you have every Chex Mix recipe known to man or know someone who does?

I'm looking for an obscure Chex Mix recipe that I cut out and saved around 15-20 years ago (and seem to have lost since the last time I made it a year ago). I haven't had any luck searching for it online, and I thought that perhaps someone here might be able to help.

Here's the info I can remember:

1. Two of the for-sure ingredients are cheese-flavored popcorn and ketchup.

2. I think it calls for some type of corn chip (possibly a particular flavor), but I'm not certain that it does.

3. It might be called Hot & Spicy or something similar, but it is not the same Hot & Spicy Chex Mix recipe that is easily found on the 'Net. The recipe I'm looking for definitely does not contain cheese crackers.

4. It does not call for taco seasoning, and is not the Mexican Chex Mix that is easily found on the 'Net.

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated. :)

:) I love how you make snacks out of cereal. I did one once from a recipe someone posted on here, but the trouble was it clled for 3 big boxes of cereal plus the extras, and of course once you make it you have to eat it:rolleyes1 I put on POUNDS so I won't do that again ;) (promise)

Thank you very much for trying, but no dice. Here's hoping someday I find my copy again and that I didn't accidentally throw it away.

Why not make up several small batches - like one with corn chips, one without, one with something else - and see which is most like? Even if you don't find an identical recipe you might create a new favourite:goodvibes

Finally found my recipe a couple weeks ago. It was tucked away in a box with Christmas cards and mail from December 2007. :rolleyes1

Here it is in case anyone's interested:

HOT'N DEVILISH MIX

1/4 C. butter or margarine
1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 Tbsp. ketchup
1 tsp. onion salt
1/2 to 1 tsp. hot pepper sauce
2 C. Corn Chex
2 C. Rice Chex
2 C. Wheat Chex
3 C. popped cheese popcorn
2 C. chili cheese flavored corn chips

Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Melt butter; stir in Worcestershire, ketchup, onion salt and hot pepper sauce. Coat cereal with seasoning mixture and bake in open roasting pan for 20 minutes, stirring after 10 minutes. Stir in popcorn and corn chips and bake an additional 10 minutes. Spread on absorbent paper to cool. Store in airtight container.

See! You knew it was in a safe place;) :rotfl2: (So glad its not just me does that - I found 4 boxes of crackers in the loft when I got the tree down! I'd been looking everywhere, accusing Dh of throwing them out:rolleyes1 )

Is this the red sauce like chalua? or peppers in a jar with vinegar stuff in it?

This is what I've used:
