UPDATE--Feeling Disappointed Right Now

Let me start by saying that our home resort is BWV and we love it. However, at my husband's urging, we stayed at VWL for 4 nights in October. I had seen the model when we were looking at DVC and did not like it for the reasons you stated.

We all loved it. We had a dedicated 2BR on the 5th FL overlooking the pool and a little of Bay Lake. The boat transportation to MK was outstanding- short waits and very reliable. Even the bus to MGM and DTD was fine. The family restaurant downstairs was very good and Artists Point was outstanding. Check in was smooth due to an efficient staff and the kid's tv area. The beach area was nice and the kids (3 & 5) loved the pool and the slide. The best part for the kids was that every night when we came back to the room, we would see a frog or two suctioned to the outside glass on the hall windows! Anyway, to sum it up, everything surpassed our expectations and we booked it again for 8 nights next October.

Try it, it might surprise you!!

Well, the dilemma now is that they have sent me a confirmation stating I am at Boardwalk, which was never even discussed with Member Services. Now that I am convinced we will enjoy being at VWL, I don't want Boardwalk and am worried that I will not be able to get moved back. Add the fact that it is difficult to get thru to Member Services right now, gives me even less comfort.

I think I would rather be at BCV or WLV rather than BWV for this particular trip. Maybe all these changes are just a sign that this trip is not meant to be.

We stayed in VWL for the first time in October, and absolutely LOVED it!!!! We didn't find the decor dark at all once we got in there, it fits in so well with the overall theme and the surroundings. If they will let you, I would definitely try to switch it back to VWL, at the very least just so you try it out. It is unbelievably relaxing. The transportation was very good. We took the boat to MK and other times, when we felt like a monorail fix, the boat to the contemporary and then would ride the monorail around. Please update us as to what happens with your ressies!

I absolutley love the BWV. I love the location, love the restaurants. I love the bakery!

We bought into BCV and are staying for the first time next week. I am so afraid I will be disappointed after staying at the BWV. (I almost changed our ressie more than once)

I think that each resort is wonderful and offers something unique. There are many BW fans and I do not think you will be disappointed. We had a great pool view last year. We were able to see the Swan & Dolphin and the slide. I would stay there again in a minute!

Good Luck with your choice, I don;t think you can go wrong with any of your choices!

If you still want to change and can't get through on the phone to MS you can always e-mail them. I always e-mail, and have always gotten a response within a reasonable time period. Plus I have it all in writing when I e-mail too!:)

Pumbaa, I have stayed at both BWV and BCV, but only in a studio. I can say that I like the layout of the BCV studios better. The entry way is angled and makes it seem not so much like a regular hotel room.

I stayed 1 night in Dec at the BCV (and then moved to 5 BWI for 5 nights) and I loved the room, I just love the convenience of the Boardwalk - the bakery, the store, everything.

But as my hubby says, we OWN at BCV and really need to stay there(at least once ;))

And I did like the layout of the room. It was very nice and bright.

I have liked someting about every resort we have stayed at, I know I will like the BCV, but I have to obsess over something! LOL! ;)
Thanks!!

O.K., last update, I hope.

I finally got thru to Member Services this afternoon. They could not explain how/why I was given a reservation at the BWV. At any rate, they were able to put me back at the WLV, so I took it, and I cancelled the wait list at BCV for this trip. I am now looking forward to staying at WLV and having the opportunity to thoroughly check out that Resort. Thanks for all your input.

And ya know, I can remember a time when I was just happy to have a regular room reservation at any hotel on Disney property. My how I have become spoiled, but I do love it. :)

That's great RWe!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll be spending the last 10 days of January at VWL. Look for my trip report in early February!:)

anniet, I will definetly do that. Since we have not stayed at WL or WLV, this will be a whole new experience for us. We have eaten at Whispering Canyon Cafe, but that is the extent of our experience with the Resort. I will appreciate any suggestions, tips, etc. that you have to offer.

Have a wonderful trip.

Both BWV and VWL are great. You won't be disappointed. The BWV is bustling and full of things to do. WLV has such a peaceful feel and convenient access to FW. You can't go wrong.

Be sure to dine at Artist Point in the WL. You won't be disappointed, especially if you get a table by the window near the waterfall. :) We got that table when we were celebrating our 25th anniversary. AP is one of our favorites at WDW!! BTW, we were staying at WLV in a 1 BR. It is a beautiful resort and has probably the best health club of all the DVC's according to my DD. I cannot comment myself on that subject. Working out on vacation is not something I consider "fun". ;)
