Today we had the chance to go over to the Beach Club. The construction on the new DVC part is really moving along. I noticed that the area closest to the hotel entrance is being fast tracked. The windows, patio doors, window trim and even the siding was going on today! The siding is a beige color. I am sure they will complete this area first as exsisting rooms at the BC hotel look at this area. The front part by the road looks much the same as it has for months. The section facing the driveway into BC has a canal of some sort and a retaining wall is being worked on. The rooms facing this direction will overlook the parking lot but if you look straight down it seems that it will be like staying at the main area of OKW. I mean much like if they put rooms over Olivia's and community hall. At BC you will overlook a walkway with the new quiet pool and spa. The water canel and a gazebo will also be there. Not sure what else will be at the first level but it will have draped lights much like OKW and BW all along the waterway. The patios look about the same size as BW too.
The outside is matching the exsisting BC quite nicely. The trim is curved and rounded in many areas like BC is now. There is a hugh rendering hanging on the wall outside the BC entrance of the finished BCV. It says - opening Fall 2002. The drawings are beautiful. It looks a light green in this picture but the siding is beige in real life!
I would "guess" IMHO that only 30 or 35% of the room will be Epcot view. Most rooms will overlook BC entrance and the area that I am sure they are really making nice. I noticed at the back road that some rooms have a very bad location and view of the utility area of Epcot. Tanks and trucks and storage buildings. I have no idea how members will like these rooms. I will add some speculation here that this resort might have three levels of rooms with point variations.
1. Premium view - Epcot
2. Preferred View - Quiet pool, BC hotel, Entranceway
3. Standard View - Back of the house, storage tanks, etc.
This is a wild guess, but it will make sense once you go around the whole building, which I did.
It was exciting to see a section moving so fast so we can get a feel of what the end result will really look like. It is more than steel beams so drive over and walk the entryway into BC next time you are home!
