GUESS WHO'S GOIN' TO DISNEY WORLD!!!

The Board, Superintendent, Principal, and powers that be have given the THUMBS UP for our trip!! :sunny:

I've managed to get us a bus, rooms for the group in Music, and we've got a performance package pending. . .WDW MMDEG is to review it ASAP and let us know if they have a space we might fill. My husband and I even managed to finagle the date changes to coincide with our kids' spring break so they won't miss classes either! I AM SO PSYCHED (and I don't even get to go!) :D

Contracts are being signed and mailed with checks this p.m. and I'm getting ready to contact WDW group again to try for an Illuminations Dessert party. Then I will spend the weekend tailoring a touring itinerary (trying not to commando them) for them to follow (or not) as they wish.

Even if the kids don't get a performance or clinic--at least they will have the travel experience! I'm just tickled pink. . . :Pinkbounce:

Thanks for the encouragement! If we get a performance, I'll let ya' know!

I think all Disers should be there to check up in them. I don't know how I am gonna make it till my trip in August!

Tess, you did good. You have given the kids a dream of a lifetime. I am so glad the group sales dept could get you rooms and all that.

Way to go Tess! The kids must be so excited and grateful as well. Ya done good girl!

Deb

Way to go!! That's awesome! I know those kids will appreciate all the work you put in for them.

Have a great trip!!

WOOHOOO! I am so glad that everything is working out. You need to be sure that somehow the students know what you did for them :)

Awesome! When will you be down there? Our band, chorus and orchestra will be performing the 27th and 28th of April. My son may even have a solo! They are singing selections from the Phantom of the Opera at Epcot on the 28th!
Let me know so I can look for your school!

You and your husband are miracle workers. Those kids are going to be going crazy. :teeth:

Our kids will be there on 4/1 through 4/5 (leaving AK around 3-4 p.m., I imagine) and back home on 4/6. They will be in school with all the others on 4/7. As you can see, the trip is SO close--can't believe our good fortune--must have been all the warm thoughts and pixie dust y'all sent our way!

Now, onward to the details & fingers crossed we will get to perform (or at least a clinic)! I'm not gonna' waste my time with negative energy for the gentleman that put us in this position!

Sorry phorsenuf--doesn't look like our kids' trip and yours will match.

All I can say is, wish I were going to WDW in 11 days! :(

Tess:

Our softball team is schedule to play at WWoS and we are staying at All-Stars Sports. Our board is now discussing if all trips should be cancelled. Congratulations on your approval. The question I have is did the parents of the band members have to sign any special wavier for this trip. I have read on this forum that some schools have cancelled trips but if the parents sign waivers that indemnify the boards then the trips are have been approved.

What an Adrenalin Rush it must have been for you the last couple of days! You have made it possible for these kids to have memories to last a lifetime!:sunny: Way to go Tess!

Nope, no waivers--not sure if that is because this trip is being taken during our spring break or not? Of course, we're not there yet--who knows what they might decide to do over the next week. I've learned that nothing is easy at this point! :D

Our local newspaper has a section on Sunday mornings called "Northeast Woman" (we live in NE Pennsylvania.) People nominate women who make a difference in the community. If you lived in NEPA, I'd nominate you, Tess. You've made a miracle happen for those kids.

Woo Hoo to you and your husband!

How exciting!! I'm so glad that everything seems to be working out!! You should be very proud of yourself...you've done an amazing job! :)

That is so wonderful Tess!!!! I think you ought to go with them to celebrate pulling that trip off for them :)

Tess, I have goosebumps!!! I am so happy for your kids!!! With everything going on in the world it is amazing you were able to get everything worked out! CONGRATULATIONS ON A JOB WELL DONE!!!

TC:cool:

helenabear--I'm afraid I must stay home with my daughter but I'm eagerly anticipating my own trip in June. I'd be afraid to tamper with the reservations my husband and I have wrangled anyway--I don't want to press our luck! :D

The band director is very excited and my son says the kids are thrilled to be on property! Some of them were a bit miffed about the Medieval Dinner, but heck--we may be able to organize a full dinner for Illuminations or Fantasmic! (Provided the Boosters approve that one. . .)

Thanks again all!

Tess, too bad you can't join them. You deserve to go for free for all of your hard work. Thumbs up to you for finding a way to get it done!:Pinkbounc

I was thinking about your problems the other day and felt so bad. I'm so happy it's working out. Here is some more PD so they get to perform or attend a clinic.:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:
