Upcoming partnership with Costco?

Just food for speculation (as if these boards need more encouragement ) - yesterday I did a survey after using the DVC Member website, and at the end when it asks you what affinity groups you belong to (D23, WDW AP, etc.) it included "Costco member" as one of the options. Hmm, what possible linkages between DVC and Costco could they be considering?

Disneyland (California) cancelled their park annual pass program and will introduce a membership program for passes.
That makes me think of Costco-type membership plan. It would be great if it meant $2 hot dogs in the park, but I’m guessing that’s not the driving idea. At most I wonder if some membership levels include Disney+?

No idea if feasible, but perhaps usage of costco travel (personnel, etc ala the IT employees) in lieu of the WDW Travel company employees could in the works to save a few bucks on the bottom line?

I took the survey and also noticed that choice. I hope something happens. Maybe something to do with APs?. Didn’t Sams club stop offering them this year.

They are just asking that because Costco is a travel provider and they are already rolled up with selling Disney Cruise line and Aulani vacations.

I have had surveys in the past and also had Costco listed so I don’t think this is anything new.

There are 4 locations in the Orlando area....I've been to all of them! One is an Costco Business Center, which is a very different store that your regular Costcos.

Interesting. My Costco has a GIANT poster of WDW as you are leaving, advertising the Costco travel agency, you know, next to the posters for insurance and checkbooks and tires and stuff.

I would imagine WDW is a common one for the Costco travel agency, but that doesn't seem to jibe well with DVC.

As we all know, survey questions don’t always end up with action, but I’m still wondering why they asked about Costco specifically and not about membership in warehouse clubs in general. Maybe we can hope for some kind of travel related DVC discount through Costco. Or DVC purchase discounts at Costco.

It's probably more like the all in one trip. Hotels, car rental, tickets/ package deal through them.

I just noticed Costco travel offering DVC properties such as OKW, and BLT. Not just Swan and Dolphin as in the past.

yeah I see 19 properties paired only in packages. will need to do some major digging to see if these are real DEALS or not!

I agree, except the Target redcard discount is still a lot better than Sams/BJs and lets you pick the number and denominations you want. I'd be shocked if Costco offered more than 5% off.. but here's to hoping for a miracle!

Hey - quit trying to raise the price of my $1.50 hot dog & drink!! Although, if Casey's Corner started selling Costco hot dogs at any price that would certainly be a nice upgrade.

In my search for a hotel for this upcoming November, I also just found that Costco has some Disney hotels listed but they're all "package deals" with tickets and I didn't need tickets...

bummer....I'll take just the hotel please!
