I know I missed out on the recent at-par promotion. Are there any other upcoming room or packages discounts that are expected for April 2005?

Thanks

Sandy

I don't think you missed much where the at-par special was concerned. I used Dreams Unlimited and their BDP code for POR, and now, with the new MYW ticket pricing, I saved $600 total. At par special would have cost me $3300, but I am only spending $2700 using DU. There are 4 of us and we're going March 24-April 4. If you go before April 16, the BDP code is available through DU.

Hi Lisa and John:

Dreams Unlimited Travel is an online travel agency. You can find the link to their site thru the DIS home page or go to www.dreamsunlimitedtravel.com. They are great. They offer discount codes that you can use to stay onsite and enable you to save lots of money. I think a lot of people book thru them; DU is mentioned A LOT on the Resorts board. Anyways, you can find all the info on them and their offerings thru their website. What is great about DU is that they have incredible customer service and their TAs are certified Disney specialists :-)

I booked Room-Only using the BDP code. They do have packages and some with dining options...but it just wasn't right for our family. I went with the moderate resort, Port Orleans Riverside, 10 nights for $114 USD/night (after taxes, $127 USD/night). It would've been cheaper had we gone another time but we're going at the height of Easter/Spring break.

As the www.mousesavers.com site will confirm, the BDP code has already expired (you had to book your stay by a certain date). I think the expiry of the BDP code coincided with the expiry of the At-Par deal.

At the time, I didn't think that the At-Par deal was such a great deal because it required you to purchase the Dreammaker package. But, in light of the new 2005 vacation packages that have the $35/day meal add-ons and the fact that Disney is allowing people to "convert" their Dreammaker packages to the new 2005 packages, I am now wondering whether we would have been better off with the At-Par deal, particularly since my understanding is that they will be allowing Canadians to apply the "at-par" discount to any additional amounts that will have to be paid to convert to a new package.

As things look now, your best bet now would be to wait for the annual passholder's discount codes to be released in January 2005 (or thereabouts) for March and April 2005 and, if a decent discount is available for the resort you want, do the math on whether you would be saving if one person in your party purchased a WDW annual pass.

Thanks, Mech8T7, for the advice about purchasing one AP to get discounts. That's a great idea!

And sorry about the BDP code :-( I didn't know it expired already.

I would agree that the At-Par Discounts were never as good as they appeared, particulary in light of the strong CAD$. The packages always were expensive unless you were going to visit the parks everyday including your first and last day of the trip.

I saved huge dollars with the Annual Pass Discount, in fact I stretched our budget to include 2 trips last year. Yipee!! I had to be somewhat flexible on dates but I even managed to stay at AKL for a few days for $130 per night.

I have not crunched the math on the new packagaes etc but I would suspect if you are going for more than 3 or 4 days then AP Discounts are always great. IMO mousesavers is the best for money saving ideas.
