We have annual passes and we want to come down for a quick weekend trip in September. We can come Labor Day weekend and tour the parks September 5 and 6 or the next weekend and tour the parks September 12 and 13. I had originally just planed to come September 12 and 13, because I thought the crowds would be much lower than 5th and 6th, due to Labor Day weekend crowds.

Well, I looked at the Touring Plans UO crowd calendar and they actually have September 5 and 6 with slightly lower crowds than September 12 and 13. Apparently, Rock the Universe, is the weekend of September 12 and 13, so I guess that's why they are expecting larger crowds that weekend.

Are there any locals or frequent Labor Day visitors to UO that have an opinion about the dates or care to share Labor Day experience at UO? Which weekend do you think will have lower crowds?

I can't speak specifically to UO, but can tell you we have been at Disney a few times including Labor Day....and it has been very pleasantly slow.

I think the reason that Labor Day weekend is lower than you'd expect is that schools in a lot of places will have started up a week or two before. Where I live, first day of school is tomorrow. So, that keeps many of the out of towners away from the parks.

In your situation I'd go the 5th and 6th, and avoid the special event going on the following week.

I agree, we've been to Disney twice during Labor Day/Week and it was slow. Just didn't know if UO was the same . . . . I think I'm leaning towards Labor Day weekend at this point :-)

We started a week and a half ago :-( Labor Day falls late this year, so I think I'm leaning towards that weekend :-)
