We are almost 100% sure we are going to add on and take Chris to Universal for 3 days at the end of our trip in Nov. Now I was going to ask you guys is Universal going to be fun for a 3 year old? He will just be 4 when we arrive and he is tall so he will definitely make the 42 inch height restriction maybe even the 44 by Nov I am not sure. But my question is Universal good for his age or should we just stick with going to WDW? Opinions greatly appreciated :)

universal is fine for 3 year old if they like characters and stuff I suggest Islands Of adventure because of sueass land flying unicorn and pteradactol flyers. Plus mommie and daddie can baby swap on the roller coasters to get a great fix. I take my kids now 4& 6 all the time they love it. Just beware of spiderman my 3 year old met the requirement of 40 inches but we did not take him as we knew it was very intense (my boys do not like 3 d stuff so if yours does not like bugs life forget it!!! I just went recenlty with my 4 & 6 year old and posted a review it might help to give you an idea of what your day would be like and what you can ride. here is a link.

HI

my son just turned 5 when we went- the first ride we got on was shrek 3d- when the spiders came out and he could "feel" them on his legs - well, this just brought him to tears and he hardly ever cries (little man:rolleyes: ) this ride ruined him for the day- he really doesn't like 3D rides and UO basically consist of 3D rides-
he did agree to ride spiderman but refused to get back on- he didn't care for the intensity of the fire (heat) scenes

actually after shrek we didn't take him to the park for a day as he thought all the rides were gonna be 3D and he would have to wear those glasses!

funny though, he enjoyed jaws- he got on MIB many times and loved the cat in the hat ride and after some major convincing he rode jimmy neutron and loved it- (he was so afraid this was a 3D ride)

we had our DD16 and DS17 with us as well and they loved universal - much better then WDW- but my little one said he prefered WDW-

you really just have to base it on what level of "scare or thrill" factor your child will tolerate- and with kids they change their minds from week to week:wave:

Cool thanks I am actually excited about combining the both. Your report sounds awesome. This is the first time we will not be going into the disney parks but we will be on disney property so we will still get the best of both worlds :) Oh I am so excited!!!!! YAY!

We went to US/ IOA last aug. and my ds was 3 - He loved it!! He is a huge nickelodeon fan, so when he got to see Spongebob, and Jimmy Neutron, he was in heaven!!! He also got to do slimetime live, and meet Dave and Jessica. He also loved shrek, he laughed his head off..... it didn't scare him at all. He was terrified on twister though, SKIP that one!!!!
He went on almost every ride at both parks, and saw the shows. We rode Jimmy about 500 times ( gotta love staying onsite to get fotl )!!!!

We got ET and let him watch it, to familiarize himself with that, so then he loved that ride, same with shrek, cat in the hat, etc......
He didn't really like spiderman, it was too intense for him, and he wouldn't ride again. He wasn't tall enough for MIB, and of course we didn't take him on BTTF- that was rough for me!!! LOL, but overall he loved it!! There are tons of things for him to do. My ds loved the water play area, he's not into barney, but he liked playing over there, and he liked woody's coaster. He loved the animal planet show, and the horror makeup show, he got picked to be in the show......... it was hysterical!!!
Your little one will enjoy it, don't worry. If he's anything like mine, you'll have to spend 10 days there also!!! LOL

Have a wonderful time!!

YAY YAY YAY And double YAY!! This is so good to here.. We are Disney addicts and it is scary to go out of our comfort zone LOL I am so excited now :)

Here is one more convincing argument for Universal/IOA. We just got back from Universal and IOA, and our 3 year old had a great time in both parks. She laughed and laughed through the Jimmy Neutron ride, and her other favorites were Cat in the Hat and the CaroSeussel at IOA.

She did get to ride MIB the first day, but the 2nd day, apparently they decided she was no longer tall enough (by a hair mind you), so they refused to let her ride it again. (DH was MAD!). She also liked Spiderman, and had mixed reviews of Back to the Future.....while we were on it she said "this is scary mom", and when it was over, she said "that was fun". So I guess the jury is out on that one. She also loved the Shrek 4D, though she kept swatting in the air at the effects (pretty funny for us though!) and Barney was a fave also.

I think you will find plenty for the 3 year old to enjoy at Universal and IOA. Have a great time!
