DH will be in London till Thursday on business. I just thought maybe there was something he could bring back that we can't get our DS and DD (3 and 2) here in the states. A toy, candy, anything...I do want the usual t-shirt and I would love to try some tea, I heard your tea was better??? Just looking for something the kids could keep and it would have meaning. Any help would be appreciated so I can give him a list when he calls to check in.

 Hi There,

What's your price range? Maybe then i'll have more of an idea what kind of stuff you're after.

Audrey :)

if he can get to Harrods then they have a teddy bear you can buy enscribed with the year on it. that might make a lovely souvenier

Probably nothing over $50, of course I don't know how that translates into pounds, I like the idea of a Teddy Bear, he's staying at the Grange City hotel and I haven't a clue as to what he's near other than I think it's a business area.

Thanks

Perhaps a trip to the Disney Store?

Somethings are exclusive to them and as they are quite young there maybe cuddly toy unavailable in the states for them.

He could get a wonderful Christmas edition teddy bear from Harrods. They make great gifts :) Hamleys the toy store have a huge selection of soft toys as well, right by the entrance on the ground floor.

I hope he has a safe and enjoyable trip :)

I would definitely go for something from Harrods or Hamleys :)

I like the bear suggestions above.

I have got this years Harrods Christams teddy bear and he is lovely. I've been collecting them for the past few years but this one is even more special as it is the 20th anniversary of the bears. At the moment they are on special offer buy one get one half price!

Harrods or Selfridges food courts are great for gifts. Selfridges in particular has a great candy section which is the best place ever to buy gifts. Even if he doesn't buy anything they are worth a visit. I bet he finds a great gift for you and your son in selfridges food court!

He brought home the Harrods Teddy Bear as I asked. Very nice, some chocolate and a double decker bus and taxi for the kids.

Had a good time by the way and really enjoyed the city. Actually found some food he liked and got used to drinking warm beer. Although he said something about if you drive a car in the city you're taxed??? What's that about? Thank you all for suggestions and hopefully one of his next trips we'll get to join him.

I'm glad he had a nice time in London :)

In 2003 London introduced a "Congestion Charge" scheme for vehicles entering the busiest areas of Greater London during 7am to 6.30pm. All cars which enter into the congestion charge areas must pay an £8.00 fee before doing so (on the internet or by phone). There are number plate scanners at each access point which ensure all vehicles have paid up before entering. If you forget to pay, a penalty notice is sent your home address. DH drives in greater London frequently, so remembering to pay can be a pain sometimes.

Technology!!!! That's the craziest thing. I've never heard of such a thing. I didn't believe him when he told me.

I don't think anyone of us in the UK believed it either when the government first spoke about it...!
