Unusual, but helpful to bring

What one unusual thing do you include in your suitcase...and remember this is Disney...so think nice.;) On my notes from my last cruise, I wrote down hand sanitizer in the large bottle. I always have the little ones in my bag, and due to illness breakouts of last year on ships, I made everyone wash their hands when they came back to the cabin. (touching elevators, stair rails, etc) The bar of soap made a mess all day, and the pump bottle of sanitizer would have made things a lot easier.

Any other helpful ideas?:cool1:

Return address labels. I've seen them mentioned on other posts and maybe in the Passporter. They really do speed up filling out luggage tags at the end of the cruise. I stuck them on other stuff I might accidentally lay down.

Ziploc bags of varying sizes. We used them for wet swim suits, etc when packing after CC. Also used them to pack sandwiches from the ship when we went on shore (we did our own excursions to Orient Beach and St. John).

We packed and used our binouclars. They were great for looking out the verandah at other ships, islands and ports when arriving and leaving.

A duffel bag, empty, to make room for all the extras on the way home. Put the dirty clothes in the duffel for easier laundry when you get home.
Vickie:wave2:

Very large suitcase, to put in all of those Mickey soaps, Shampoo, mugs, pillowcases, thoose cute little face flannels, towels, bath robes, theatre chairs, doggy bag for the food, the odd wine bottle, Mickey, minnie, deck chair,

(I am joking before anyone gets to upset!)

Andrew...better be careful...you'll have people wondering where their bathrobes were!:p

I'm big on the Ziploc bags, too.

Also, on trips to WDW, I bring the duffle inside my other luggage so I can use it for dirty clothes and my regular luggage for souvenirs. Warning! Don't forget that you came down with one bag and are going home with two!! I left my duffle at the airport and remembered it when I got home. I had to go back to the airport the next day to retrieve it. I had to go through Customs again but it didn't matter as all the purchased stuff was safely home....it was my dirty clothes that spent the night at the airport!

I bring labels printed on my computer with names and addresses of all the people I want to send postcards. That way I don't have to spend time addressing them....just write them and send them off.

A sharpie pen came in handy for labeling our waterproof disposable cameras with our room number.

I'm thinking about bringing a small white board and pen for messages next time around. We had walkie talkies, but no one liked having to carry them everywhere. And we did split up a lot! Maybe that's why it was such a good vacation?

I forgot to buy 2 DCL refillable mugs for souvenirs :(. I saw them on day 1 and was in a hurry. figured i had 7 days to buy them and forgot. I can still picture them pretty blue mugs for $5 each.

We take garbage bags to put the dirty clothes in before putting them back in the suitcases.

Make sure you fill out the luggage tag (the leather ones that comes with your luggage when new)with your name and address attached to the outside of your luggage. Our biggest piece of luggage was very late getting to our cabin. When it finally arrived there was a complete different tag with our name and cabin # then the one that DCL gave us to start with. The original must of fell off, figured they found out who owned it by the luggage tag with our name and addy.

Please don't forget to label your disposible camera. We came home from our stingray excursion with 2 by accident. We brought it to GS to see if anyone had asked about one but no luck. We still have it undeveloped at home. Our camera was also not labeled so we thought we had just picked up ours.

We brought a pad of Post-it notes and left notes on the door as to where each of us were. It was very handy and easy to keep updated.

Bring a few water bottles and keep refilling them on deck 9 aft. That water is the best and we always had it available in our room and when we left the ship. The water from the room sink is not as good.

I bring along little bottles.

I collect the little syrup bottles that you get if you order pancakes at Cracker Barrel. When they are empty I wash them out well, peel off their label and let them air dry. I place a blank label on them, then store them till it's time to cruise.

We use them to collect sandy from the different beaches we visit on the islands.
A great little souvenir and the price is right. Just don't forget to write on the label where it came from. Did that on one cruise, now we have to go back and collect it again.:teeth:

We brought blank thank you notes to write out and place the tip or phone cards for special CM's. Different colored hilighters to mark the daily Navigators for what different members of the family want to do. Folders to hold all the papers, navigators, etc you accumulate through the week.

That's a great idea but I'd be careful about it if I were you. I have heard you aren't supposed to bring back sand (at least to Canada)...I guess like fruit, etc. because you could bring back insects or something.

Still a cool idea!

I also brought a stiff cardboard photo mailer to store our photos from Shutters.

I wouldn't take ANY food off the ship. It's strictly prohibited and can get you into serious trouble.
