Can park hoppers be used by other than the person that purchased them? Example, MIL buys a 4 day park hopper and only uses 2 days of it, can I use the other? How would Disney know if someone else but the original purchaser uses it? Do they require ID's? I was under the impression that you buy at ticket and use it and no ID required. Any info would be great.

Thanks

I THINK the answer is that they are technically non transferrable. However, no one will ever know and I really don't think that anyone would care given your set of circumstances. Buying or selling the unused days would be a big no-no. There is no checking of IDs or anything like that with the regular hopper passes (APs are another story). I have 4 hopper passes with unused days, and I don't worry about keeping track of which one is mine vs. my sons, etc. If your MIL is willing to part with it, take it!

How does Disney record a day's usage? When you hand over the ticket at the gate does someone stamp it or punch a hole or something?

its all magnetically read in a machine at the gate. No hole punching or stamping.
