unused park hopper plus days

With the tentative schedule I have set up for our trip in October it looks like I'll only use 4 out of my 5 park hopper days and 1 of my two 'plus' options. (We're attending MNSSHP for 1 evening and not using our PHP that day).

My question is what happens with my childrens' tickets? They're 8,6&4 and by the time we save up enough money to go again, likely 2 of them will need adult passes. Can you upgrade them and if so, how much does it cost to upgrade to an adult ticket for one day.

Also, can you tell on the tickets what is left or is it a credit card type thing?

Is it a dumb idea to leave a day on each pass without knowing if/when we'll be back?

Thanks!

I don't buy Park Hoppers, but you are supposed to be able to upgrade for free once the ticket has been started by the child and they have reached 10 without finishing the ticket.

Should you return with the unused day or plus option after a child has turned 10 guest services will upgrade the ticket. Simply go to the window with the child and explain. If the dates make sense then the CM will re-issue an adult pass with the same unused days and or plus options as the childs ticket. We did this last May with my friends ds at the entrance to Epcot and to took about 5 minutes.

The only place to check unused days or plus options is at the parks. This is to help prevent selling of unused days or plus options.
