If I have an unused old annual pass voucher that someone gave me. Is it still good? It has never been activated. It was purchased before Animal Kingdom was open so it wouldn't be good for that park. Can this be used? I know regular theme park tickets never expire but I wasn't sure about AP's. Thanks.

I think I would try and call to find out. I am not sure. Is it in your name? I hope it is still good and if so congrats!:wave2:

I didn't think it would include AK since it was purchased before AK was opened. The voucher does not have a name on it. It needs to be activated at the park.

Golden Oldie is correct.
When the Animal Kingdom first opened, people were told that passes purchased before that date would not be good at AK, Disney has since changed their stance.
The pass will be good for one year from the time of activation.
If you then purchase a renewal pass, that would be good for 1 year from the time of the prior one expiration date.

Thanks for the info. I am going to try it out in two weeks and see how it goes. I'll post back if I have any problems. Thanks again.

I was going to buy one from ebay that was old, but didn't have the guts to give it a shot. Would've saved a good bunch of $, but got several conflicting info from WDW, even from Guest Relations at MK. The consensus was pretty much that it depends on who you get when you try to convert the voucher. Please update if it works!

Is one Guest Relations at one park better then another? Or is it just whatever mood the CM is in on that day? Like have people had an easier time dealing with Guest relations at MGM vs. MK or isn't there a difference? I figure we will try all the parks if need be. I am hoping the worst case senerio is we will get the original face value of the ticket and we will have to pay the difference to upgarde to a current pass. We were going to pay for an annual pass anyway so it wouldn't be a big deal. I'll let you know in a couple weeks. Thanks again.

length of the lines, depending on which day you go and which park you go to. I don't know if a long line would work to your benefit or not. I would think that if you get an inexperienced CM, you will probably spend more time for the CM to call a supervisor, etc.

I always found that Guest Relations at Epcot was the easiest. Very rarely is there any other people there, so you get them all to your self.

If I were you, I'd call first and see if someone from Guest Relations will commit a "yes" over the phone to you. I did this in August when I read on mousesavers that a child pass can be upgraded to an adult pass for free, if the child it was purchased for grows up. Didn't quite believe it, so I called and Disney confirmed it. When I went to get it changed out at Guest Relations at the park, the guy took forever, then tried to charge me the price difference! I was able to say "no, I was told there would be no charge"--and in the end there wasn't. If I hadn't gotten that confirmation over the phone to begin with, things may have turned out differently, but I was able to sweetly stand firm.

Good luck!

No need to call. An annual pass voucher never expires. GoldenOldie and Mary @ Mousesavers are Disney Guru's - believe.

In dis-happy's case, the answer to their question is very cut and dried.

In LisaR's case, it isn't. If she were to call the chances are 90-95% that the Guest Relations CM would tell her that GR would have to scan the ticket before they could tell you. Which is not true but happens to be the corporate line proffered in these situations to cover their butt.

LisaR: you are correct about your worst case scenario but I'd be willing to bet you a beverage of your choice that there will be no additional charge to activate it now. ;)
