If you've read our Summer trippie you will be aware we like to change our plans and sneak extra nights on site (or nearby) - we ended up with an extra 2 nights at Holiday Inn instead of in a tent!!!

Well we are thinking of changing our plans for our next trip as well.

We are staying at Cheyenne from 25th-29th March (myself, DH, DD-8 and for first time taking DS 21). We choose Cheyenne so we could have bunk beds. However prior to this we have a week in France in a mobile home at Berny Riviere and this is where the changes come in.

We have already been forced to change them once already.

Take 1.

We travel to France by tunnel on Tues 18th and because Berny Riviere doesnt open til 19th had planned to stay in a mobile home near Calais for a night It was all booked but then Eurocamp phoned to say the Calais site had decided not to open so early either so we could travel a day later or make our own arrangements for the night. Perfect excuse to go and stay near Disney for a night to be able to get DS his Francilien pass. So

Take 2.

we booked a cheap hotel in Bussy St George figuring we only needed a place to sleep and would go into the parks when we arrived, get the pass, do a couple of rides and then spend the next day either in Paris or just go straight to campsite.

However

Take 3.

We are now thinking of cancelling this hotel and staying onsite instead. We would arrive at lunchtime on 18th, spend the day chilling, swimming, in the village etc rather than waste DSs one day allowed in park as closes at 7 so would only be few hrs and would then spend all 19th in the park, getting his pass before driving to Berny Riviere and returning on 25th to Cheyenne.

But the big question is where do we stay?

We have priced up all the hotels room only and are torn between Davey Crocket (£139 or £152 for 2 bedroomed) Newport Bay (£193) and New York (£227) DLH (£416) (We have discounted Sequioa as we are going there in summer)

We loved the pool at Davey Crocket and it would be fun to spend more time there. Also DD and DS wouldnt have to share a bed but by going to New York or NPB we are more in the heart of the action.

Whats the pool like at NY and NPB? Are they just pools as opposed to slides etc (for DD not me) in other words more geared towards adults than children.

I think we've discounted DLH as possibly too expensive - would be nice but maybe another time and Im going off NPB as seem to have read so many bad reviews recently but cant decide between DC and NY - difference in price would pay for a meal (or poss 2) but a night of luxury would be nice. There again DCR was fun and it would be nice to spend a bit more time there than we did at Christmas.

Oh Im going round in circles trying to decide :headache:

I'll probably kick myself for saying this but I'd go for HNY

Our love for DCR is well known but since you have already been here staying at HNY would really get the holiday off to a flying start.
Being so close to the Disney Village means you can enjoy a wander around there if you are staying away from the park.

If it were me I'd choose Davy Crockett as I think you'd be able to spend more time in their pool and could spend more time exploring it.

Then you could choose HNY on a future visit. :goodvibes

Hmmmm - I'm thinking HNY. Then if your son wants to have a bit of night life or just a pint at the Sports Bar he is near enough to walk to the Village. (Just checking you said your son is 21, not 12:rotfl2: )

Yes definitely 21

Thanks for replies so far - exactly same arguments we've been using ourselves-

Been already to DCR so New York would be different and nice to be close to Village ( as Cyrano says) but on other hand nice to spend more time at DCR and really enjoy pool (as Warebears says)

My gut feeling at the moment is DCR. We will be at Cheyenne for 5 days the following week and as the park closes at 8.00 (never been there when closed so early before) we will be spending quite a bit of time in the Village and in the hotels round about during that week so it would make it a bit different being at DCR to start with and we could always go into the Village if we wanted.
But there again........:headache:

... but it is a good dilema to have DCR v HNY. You'll not be disappointed which ever one you choose :goodvibes

Well we made up our mind and opted for a night at DCR as we decided it would give us time to have a good look round and explore and a good swim or laze in the pool away from the chaos of the parks. By staying here we can still go to the Village if we want. :dance3:

So we will travel from home to Ashford on 17th March, stay in Travel Lodge over night, go thro tunnel early 18th and drive to DLP. May go straight to DCR or possibly to Village for lunch then to DCR and wil spend afternoon relaxing. Evening we will either eat at Tavern at DCR or back into Village or snacking depending on what we had for lunch.
19th we'll have a leisurely get up and breakfast at DCR then go into park and have some fun and get DS his Francilien pass (we have our dream APs) then early evening we'll leave DLP and go to Berny Riviere for week of relaxation then return to Cheyenne on 25th for lots and lots of fun probably including a day in Paris :yay: :yay:
