I am listening to the podcast and just wanted to comment on the conversation regarding Disney "not wanting" registered sex offenders.
One thing that you didn't mention was that in addition to the RSO having been found guilty in a court of law etc, is that it is ALWAYS a stipulation of parole that these people NOT go to/ live near/ work at amusement parks, schools, play grounds, and the places where children are most likely to be found. So Disney is really enforcing that stipulation.
On our first trip to DisneyWorld in '07, while I waited to see Winnie the Pooh with our 3 1/2 year old daughter, my husband (a retired police officer) was greeted by a man whom he had arrested as a pedophile. My husband discreetly located the manager at the nearest store and explained the situation. He was quite impressed by how quickly, smoothly, and utterly transparently, Disney's security removed the man from the park. No one around had any idea.
While no one can be 100% sure they are 100% safe anywhere (sadly) we were well assured that Disney's security really had a great handle on their parks.
I for one can't wait to go home & tell him how WDW is now screening passholders with the RSO list.
thanks for the great updates on your podcast!!
