Right, I used to work for a mobile phone company, and finished with them back at the beginning of March. On the 25th, when my last wage came through, I noticed I had been underpaid. Went to see my old manager, she confirmed that I was owed around £230. She called the area manager and pay roll, who also confirmed this and said I would be paid on the 25th of April (next pay day). So yesterday, guess what, I didn't receive anything.
I'm a student so £230 is a lot of money to me.. But I don't know what to do about it now... I have copies of the rota and I have my payslips to show I havn't been paid.
I have bills and a trip to DLRP in a fortnight. I could really do with this money, as I am entitled to it.
Any advice as to what action I could take?

Cheers,

Annie

ask the citizens advice bureau to put you in touch with the small claims court, if you have the paperwork to prove it you shouldn't have any problems

You can claim with the small claims court direct on the internet. There is a small fee that you have to pay upfront but the charge goes to your employer so you will get it back

I agree with the comments about going to the small claims court.

Firstly I would call them again and tell them didn't get paid what was agreed last month and tell them that you will give them a further 5 working days to send you a cheque and that if a cheque is not received then you will proceed via the small claims court.

I used to do the payroll for a large company 100+ employees and we always used to pay the ex employees by cheque so this shouldn't be a problem for them. Threatening them with the small claims court should kick them into gear as they won't want to have the hassle of all the paperwork the small claims court will cause them.

Hope this works out and you get your money ASAP. Let us know the outcome.
