Smithsburg, huh.... No clue, but I will add it to the list!

Tomandrobin, are you getting ready to come down here? The weather has been decent all week. I hear that we just missed a storm last weekend. Oh Darn! We former Minnesotans do like us a good snow storm.

We are currently in a 1Br @ OKW overlooking the 6th green. We have been here since Sunday. Park attendance is low. Dining is NOT up to snuff with my Disney expectations.

Last night we had an ADR for 5pm @ Hollywood & Vine (Fantasmic Package), we were not called until 5:35pm. Worse part, the place was only 2/3s full. We barely made the 7pm Fantasmic show. The 4yr old likes to take his time when he is eating dinner.

ESPN the weekend is getting ready to start, and I considering going to the Wide World of Sports tomorrow to catch the Braves play my beloved LA Dodgers. They want $20 a ticket for preseason (bleacher seating)... UNBELIEVABLE!

Anyways, just checking in from OKW!

Edward

Oh and I will update Smithsburg.... whereever that is...

If I'm not mistaken, that's Hagerstown territory... northwest of Frederick.

How do I know? My brother leaves in North Frederick. When I was training for my new driver's license my instructor had me drive out I-70 to see my brother. On the way home I mistakenly took I-70 West (not East as I was supposed to). I ended up just about in hagerstown before I figured it out and had to turn around then drive another 60-80 miles home, during the DC rush hour. Not fun.

Fellow Columbians!!! Is it just me or are you noticing a lot more crazy male drivers in little white cars? I had two guys pass me in the right shoulder in the last month. First one ended up speeding away from police and landed in a tree. During school rush hour on Homewood Road (the 108/Harpers Farm area).

Is there something in the water around here?

LOL...Are you sure they weren't police cars? :drive: ::cop:

Has anyone noticed that DINGs from BWI to MCO have been practically non-existent lately?

Orlando has been non-existent on most days . I think it's like this for a while after they post the new dates. This seems to be the pattern.

This is peak travel time to Florida. I've been tracking them too, very disappointed. Last year the dings started popping back up in April for May travel.

This is good to know- I don't usually travel in the spring so I don't know the pattern this time of year. I have a May trip planned and also December- I already have my airfare for May but would love to get a DING for MAY and snag a few credits for our December trip.

I hear you . When they opened this last set of dates both my trips opened. The last was just 2 days before the cutoff. I wish it would have not been like that . I did have $400 in TVVs so that took care of most of the June trip but it would have been nice to wait for the Aug trip.

Oh well $79 each way for all the flights still is not that bad.

tomandrobin Have a great and safe trip.

I know last year we snagged $49 dollar tickets for a Mothers Day weekend trip with a Ding deal. I'm with you, hoping for a Ding in May for some credits for our December trip also.

Thanks for the warm welcome.

Smithsburg is a small town in Washington County about 5-10 minutes from Hagerstown.

I just saved about $90 total on The birthday special for the 3 of us. It was a pain As most of it was TTVs but I'll take what I can get.

Just got dings this morning for BWI to and from Orlando...through May and some for June.

We have never used SW before....but I signed up for Dings when we bought DVC...this last batch of rates will cover our Aug. trip - but I was wondering if $79 ea way is about as good as it will get before we book it....from where we live we can use either BWI or Dulles - it's about the same distance...but I was hoping for a little less.... At last check Air Tran from BWI was only about $10-11 more pp (and with assigned seating). Anybody ever try them to Orlando?! I was thinking for the seat assignments it might be worth it...esp. for the return flight check-in thing - won't have to worry about hitting it at exactly 24 hrs prior... Opinions?! Is $79 good or should I play the waiting game?! :confused3  :confused3

Okay we flew Airtran a few years ago on our first Jan. trip. I liked them just fine but I can't seem to get a lower fare with them like SW. This past trip in Jan. I had 79 each way on SW...and through two dings I was able to lower my tickets. I always do one ways.....so I use the credit from the first ding on the return flight. I got 49 one way and 59 the other way. I always book SW as two one way tickets.

Mine just went from $73 to $59 for both our June one-ways ( I also just book this way).

But for our Oct trip and DEc trips when all was said and done it was $44 for 2 ways , $49 one way and $59 the last that was Dec22nd so I can see that as a busy travel day.
