Hi everyone,
I am a west coaster (just started going to DLR yearly) and am planning out a trip to WDW next year (possibly October). Trying to figure out everything I can about WDW (slight obsessive overplanner :))- I really LOVED the Unofficial Guide info to start me out when I started my DLR planning and was thinking it would be a great starting place for WDW (ok ok ok I already started "some" planning, research LOL). Anyone know if this is the best book to get the basics from before hitting other online avenues? Also, I will be traveling with 2 young kids and I noticed there is an Unofficial Guide and an Unofficial Guide for traveling with young kids- anyone know if both are needed or is one better than the other? TIA!!

We are also West Coasters who have been to WDW several times. We have used both guides, and thought they were great. Since the kids are young, I would suggest the one for traveling with kids. There are lots of things you plan differently for kids, so it covers those items.

You might also check out the Mom's Panel on WDW site. It is great to ask questions on and get help. Our first trip with DD in 2010 I got tons of ideas and info there. I also asked a few questions myself and was given great advise. Of course you can ask questions here as well. But run the risk of lots of conflicting opinions.

I used to recommend the UG, but I think this one is much better: http://smile.amazon.com/Guide-First...de+to+your+first+walt+disney+world+visit+2015

Be careful with this. I have seen some very bad information from the Mom's Panel. If someone gives incorrect advice here, there will be plenty of people to correct it.

I hope it's good, because I've already pre-ordered the 2016 WDW unofficial guide on amazon, lol. I'm starting to plan my first ever (but not technically, went when I was ~2-3 years old) WDW trip for early 2017.

Love the UG and the kids version. I buy a new one every few years I n case I've missed something. Plus, I love to read about the World.

I bought The Easy Guide even though I have been to WDW a number of times before. It' designed for first timers. You can get a feel of the content at easywdw and your First Visit to WDW.

Thers is a Southern Cal regular that highlights the differences well. Most of Hydroguys (Hydro Guy)? Posts are on the Theme Park Board. I found his posts really helpful when we went DL three years ago. He knows his WDW touring also

Hydroguy is the BEST!

Do you know when the 2016 guide comes out?

With the UG, also use touring plans.com to give you personalised plans that work great with kids:)
