Hi,
We are coming to WDW next November. Just wondering if it is worth purchasing the Unofficial Guide 2007 now, or will there be an updated version out mid next year? What do you think?

I would say to go ahead and purchase it. They change very little from year to year and the changes are available on their website.

Also, that will give you a year to obsessively read, and reread it over and over...which of course I would know nothing about. ;)

I'd say don't buy it yet - they revise versions frequently throughout the year, and the 2008 guide will be out in August! So if you pre order you'll get it on the day it comes out which will easily give you 3 months planning time.

Until then, you always have the dis pixiedust:

I agree with flortlebap. Using the 2005 edition as an example: It was released in late summer, 2004 as usual. Generally, the book goes through two or three editions a year, with minor changes. Well, the second edition that year was printed after a MAJOR change was made to the ticket prices/options and the Disney Dining Plan had been introduced. My 2005 version was then somewhat seriously out-of-date, but a friend who bought one in January or February has/had one that was very accurate.

I'd wait until next summer.

If you have an old version (say within the last 4 years) I would suggest you wait for the 2008 edition. If you have never read it before, get the 2007 edition and start reading now.
