Unofficial Guide or Passporter

I love the UG, it is very comprehensive. I used it and the DIS for most of my planning. The Passporter will be what I carry into the parks - the maps are great. I've ordered the deluxe three ring, so I can just take out what I need for that day. I hate fanny packs, but I got one for this trip as I want my hands free, and not have to worry about stowing a purse or backpack on rides.

I'm a long-time Passporter fan. I have the "deluxe" edition which means that I have the 3-ring binder that takes the Passporter refills. I love the maps, the pockets, and the down-to-earth conversational style of the writing. I love just reading through different sections for a mini Disney fix. It doesn't read like a guide, imo, which is also imo a good thing. :)

I should have added that I too buy the Passporter new for each trip. It's a fun keepsake to look back on and look through and I'll keep them forever.
I sat down at our local Borders with a vanilla honey chai one day and had each book that was there about WDW travel sitting right next to me (QUITE the stack!!!) and I paroozed them all looking for the one that had the most things I was interested in and it was the UG hands down becuase of it's sheer amount of info and knowing they do regular updates and recheking of things. I take what they say with a grain of salt and glean the info I need and that applies to me. Some info is good for some and too much for others. But I'd rather tham have too much than not enough. And since it's aimed at the widest possible gammut of people it's going to have things in it that just won't work with some or perhaps rub some the wrong way. I felt sorry for them actually spending more than they should have needed to in the beginning of the book defending what they do and how and why they do it based on complaints. I will BE SURE to tell them after our trip how much I LOVED the guide! But as I said, it's been INVALUABLE! And then in Oct. I will buy the official guide so it's got the most current "official" fluffy info for our Dec. trip. Like others have said and I mentioned before, it's FUN to plan and it's FUN to get a Disney fix! :hyper:

I love the UG. It has so much information. I also felt that the Passporter is something you need in the very beginning stages of planning to get the full use out of it.
