I found this in someone's signature in the News and Rumors thread. Their avatar says they are a WDW Sailor. Thought it might start some interesting conversation on the camping side of this world.
Rules for WDW transportation:
1. There are signs. Read them
2. There are gates, do not jump over them or open them. P.S. the gates have signs, read them
3. There are ropes. Don't jump over or duck under them. Doing so requires a massive amount of paperwork when you get clothes-lined.
4. If gates are closed, you're not getting on the boat.
If the gates are open, you're likely getting on the boat. In neither case is it necessary to run, yell/whistle, or do anything prohibited by #2 or #3
5. allow 1.5 hours for all WDW transportation. Period. They tell you on the phone to allow 1.5 hrs for Disney transportation. Pardon me if I don't feel sympathy because you didn't listen to them. I will not give you priority over people in front of you and I will not call another boat and tell them to hurry because you have a reservation.
6. There are 2 boats on every route. Understand this, and then refer to #4
7. When the boat is casting off, it's not going to wait. Period. It's a safety hazard to re-secure the boat. Refer to 4,5,6, and the paperwork in 3.
8. Everyone loves WDW, but you're not the only one there. Remember the big picture. There are cycles to keep and ferryboats/lightshows to dodge. Refer to 4,5, and 6
