Unlimited Photo Package on The Wish?

Is it worth it? Are there stations all around the ship to take photos like on other cruise lines? Do they have magic shots like in the parks? Sorry for all the questions, first time Disney cruiser

I don't remember there being stations all around the ship. There were several set up in the atrium throughout the evening, including general portraits and magic shots, and the scheduled character meets including the Royal Gathering had them. I know we also got pictures in the dining room on pirate night and maybe one other night?

My kids are heavy into characters, so we ended up with lots of pictures. The lighting in the atrium can be weird, so there were a few meets where the photos I took on my phone were really badly colored but the ship photos were great. And, with the package, it's much easier to have parents hop in so you can get family pictures without having to hand off your phone to a CM.

Compared to World, I don't think the cruise photo package is as good of a value. I definitely get more for my money in the parks. That said, I do think it's good enough to warrant the expense if you're going to meet a few characters, stop for posed pictures one evening, etc.

For reference on the Atrium lighting thing, here's what I got and they got about 2 seconds apart.

Personally I did 15 characters (+ 4 that didn’t have photographers) 7 lobby backgrounds, one set up at castaway and one set up getting off the aqua mouse and had about 90 something photos averaging $2 and change per photo

My personal assessment of “are the photo packages worth it?” is based on: am I going to take the time to wait in line for pictures and do I want the professional ones taken? Can you hand your phone/camera to the CM and have them snap a picture: yes, but they’re not going to be as well positioned and lighted as the photographer’s who has been stationed and set up in that spot. My sister’s family never waits in line for characters, never takes pics, and never does anything with any pics that are taken. My family will wait in line for lots of pics and I routinely make photo books for my family, so I appreciate well lit, well positioned, and all of us included pictures. For me it’s an easy yes and my sister an easy no.

We like the photo package. You get character photos, photos from the backdrops set up in the atrium before dinner, and dinner photos. They also have photographers on castaway cay.
