Will they be re-doing Universe of Energy to feature Phineas and Ferb?

Seems like a super long shot, but the more I think about it, it would be a smart move. They are insanely popular with all ages (including adults) and would be a relatively inexpensive way to get them into the parks in a big way. Plus, it's sort of right up their alley.

My mom would absolutely hate that. She loves Ellen, and I also laugh at that show every time.

I love Phineas and Ferb too... hmm. I could see them redesigning it though. Not many people are ever at Ellen's Energy.

No it will never happen, the ride will not be redone till after JII is redone but P&P will never be used in Epcot. The only character intergration that was ever thought of for UOE was Monsters INC. THe premise would have been that Mike and Sully are interested in how humans get their energy.

As far as Phineus & Pherb there is a lot od talk that they will star in a 4D adventure that may replace Sounds Dangerous in DHS.

I only ever hear about those characters on the DIS.... :confused3

Maybe they can get BP to be the new sponsor while they are at it...

There's nothing wrong with Ellen - she's hilarious - the problem with UOE is that it is sooooooooooo long. The whole concept of that attraction needs to be redone to a much faster and concise package.

I disagree the attraction is unique they should not change the system just the content. The ride is about 20 years behind the times, while we don't utilize solar and wind and still depend on oil nothing about it is futuristic. The content needs to once again be about the future of energey like Ion powered engines and fuel cells.

ALSO THOSE HUGE SCREENS ARE JUST BEGGING FOR 3D!

But it is air conditioned so it is a perfect ride for a little nap on a hot summer day in Epcot.

I do think the opening movie can be shortened so the ride wasn't so long but I do like the ride and think Ellen is a good fit. I could see Monsters Inc. there before I could see Phineas and Ferb.

I just don't want to see the educational aspects removed from FW. Before they spend money on UofE I'd like to see them do something with the Wonders of Life pavilion other then hold events in there on occasion. Disney has been promoting health through some menu changes and the addition of a lot of health related events (like the added endurance events) and getting the WofL pavilion up would go along with that nicely.

As someone who is subjected to Phineas and Ferb multiple times daily, it *can* be an educational show. And dinosaurs are something they think are incredibly cool. I don't know- I can see it working.

I *like* the ride, and adore Ellen, but we've been on it twice this past year and we're pretty much done for the next few years. The kids don't like it and it's kind of a time suck for the rest of us. It's not an attraction that holds return value. I remember when it first opened and I was a kid and thought the big screens and dinosaurs were super cool, but now it's like sitting through the same movie I've seen 1,000 times at the local multiplex.

And the information in the ride is HORRIBLY outdated now. It's no longer educational if its not true, you know? When and if they re-do the attraction, they need to just focus on the history of energy, because the future of energy changes on a daily basis. It's too volatile and political for Disney to keep up with.

Like I said, I can see it working. Not sure if it will really happen as Epcot seems strangely hit or miss in the updating of attractions.

Agreed! I hate Nemo in TLS with a passion ruined that pavilion imo. I would rather UOE get its overhaul with no character integration at all.

Maybe they should just focus on "The Universe"- there's so much cool stuff they could integrate into that attraction if they focused on space.

There was a planned space pavilion but the budget was cut and we now have Mission SPace instead.

The focus of the pavilion is energy. I could see them adding the aspect of experimental energy sources for space travel to the show if there was a refurb but completely changing the focus from energy to space won't happen. I think the pavilion that ended up being Mission:SPACE should have been a different kind of attraction, more education based or at least story based and less thrill ride, but that ship has sailed...so to speak. I would have loved a modernized version of Horizons.

Mission Space was supposed to be one ride that was enclosed in a whole pavilion. The pavilion would have been large like The LAND with MS being the E-ticket there was to be some kinf of film and dark ride as well. However the budget was slashed and all we got was MS.

I really wish they had done the original plan based on that description.

When I first saw this I thought, WHAT??? But then it didn't sound so strange. But Ellen is still hot and they won't replace her. And they shouldn't, this is a great attraction as is.

So I thought it might be a good alternative to have one of those build your own rollercoasters with P and F hosting it. You go to the backyard to build it and P and F will guide you along. Once you ride Candice, the girl across the street, the bully and the Indian kid can join you on the ride. Something crazy will happen on your ride as Doofenshmirtz and Perry fight it out in the background.

Just thinking?

I could see something like this.

Ellen looks a lot different now than she did back then, and so does Alex Trebec....not to mention the Jeopardy stage has been upgraded about 4 times since that version of the attraction came out.

I don't like Disney constantly using celebrities of "now", that's more like Universal's game. What if something happens with the celebrity, a major scandal or something really bad happens...would they leave the attraction open like that, or be forced to change it?

What may work towards a major refurb of UoE is that like Drew Carey, Ellen is really no longer associated with Disney for the most part. NBC Universal I believe distributes her show, which is why she spent a week at USF and hyped up their attractions, including previews of HP.

But then again, Drew Carey's mug still adorns the building at DHS. He used to be the darling of ABC until they burned out his audience.
