Universe of Energy - Still on the Chopping Block?

well, I'll need to go first thing in the morning after several coffees on our trip in February. I will watch the whole thing without sleeping at least once!

I've done the whole thing without sleeping at least twice. Only time I ever felt sleepy on a ride was living with the land, not because of the ride but because I just finished a giant walk and was tired to begin with

Hmmm...Say goodbye to, Stupid Judy...LoL! Although it holds a tiny bit of nostalgia, it really is time to turn the page.:confused3popcorn::

That is exactly my feelings!!! While I enjoyed the ride, it's time for it to go. I'll miss it but if it stays it's overstaying it's welcome

As others have already said though, I do hope it doesn't just sit there empty as other pavilions have been over the years..:confused3

Yes, I am fond of it; we went to Epcot the year it opened and this was my favorite that first trip, so I've been on it recently with nostalgia-colored glasses. And I love Ellen, and Bill Nye. But it's time for something new.

If they really want to update Epcot left a lot of places a good put something new without building a building yet they have been doing that! The attraction buildings in Germany and Japan certainly should be prime candidates for something new since they are just basic shells at this time.

Anyone know the story behind the empty attraction building in Germany and Japan? I wasn't even aware that they existed!

The Germany building was supposed to hold the Rhine River Cruise but was cut before the whole park opened.
The Japan building was supposed to hold the attraction "Meet the World" but due to a WWII reference and the feeling of offending vets they scrapped it. It was later supposed to have a bullet train simulator but then I believe it became expanded into the department store there

Read some rumors a couple months back that Ellen's energy adventure was suppose to close in January ? Anyone know if it's going to close ? If so when?

Thank You

In the Rumor forum people more wired in than I am have stated it's on the chopping block. Rumor started December 2016 or so. So far nothing has happened.

Nothing more than a rumor. Latest was that it's going to get a Guardians of the Galaxy ride there, but idk if that's still a rumor since DL's ToT is now GotG. I certainly hope when it's replaced it's something far better.

For now it's just Ellen's Energy Adventure with no closing date

Its a rumor, some rumors happen quickly, some take forever to happen and many never happen. In this case I hope it happens and quickly as that's a ride that should've been replaced years ago.If it happens I'm rooting for it to be Guardians of the Galaxy as it would mean it would be less likely they would mess with Tower of Terror, the best ride in WDW!!

How exactly would Guardians of the Galaxy tie in to Energy and Epcot??

It wouldn't have to tie into energy. And it ties to Epcot due to 'futuristic concepts' and space travel.

The pavilion is to do with Energy though. It was pre-Ellen as well.

Space travel is handled at Mission Space.
