I was hoping they had made some changes but none that I could see. I just don't understand the love of this attraction. It is amazing it has lasted this long.

WOW I have not done that ride in years. It is just so darn long and boring. I wonder why they closed it.:confused3

Are you kidding??? I love this ride! It's classic.

Okay, the stupid radio thing while you're waiting for all the other cars to catch up is tedious beyond belief, but the rest of it is just the neatest thing. I can't see why you'd want it to change.

This is one of the favorite rides hands down....never change it....keep the radio station! "How cold it is!!!"

Why is it that I am not remembering this whole radio station thing. All I remember about the ride is the jeopardy thing and dionosaur area. Maybe I better do it again. LOL.

This is our daughter's FAVORITE ride. I think it is the most boring ride on property.

What radio? What makes this ride your favorite?

See? You SLEPT through the whole thing...that's why you don't like it!!!

It's not MY favorite, but it is a Don't Miss Attraction. I love the dinosaurs. I love the cool, misty feeling. I love the Ellen/Jeopardy re-theming. I love the 360 movie of flying in a helicopter. I love that it's never crowded, and dark and cool on a hot day. I love the educational aspect of it, and that it has Bill Nye, the Science Guy in it (we ought to have WAY more Bill Nyes in the world).

I guess I love it because it's one of the few things left in Epcot that still tries to TEACH you something, that still has at least a nod to education.

But don't you think they could have done it better? I like that it is educational but it just seems to be lacking.

It is a good place to relax. :)

I agree! Plus... this building has solar power!

My 10 year old daughter loves this ride.
She is a thrill ride junkie but at the end of the day, when asked "What do you want to go on again?" this is the ride she goes back to!

BTW - in the Magic Kingdom she loves the Carousel of Progress! Universe of energy is awesome compared to the carousel.

I'm sure there are some things that could have been done better, but since I'm not the one doing them, it's hard to say what.

I think people are way overstimulated as it is, and not everything has to be a heart-pounding thrill to be effective. I think the animatronics are comparable to most others in the park...actually better than the ones in "Dinosaur!"...and suitable for small children, as they do not jump out at you.

I like the Jeopardy/Ellen's Dream Sequence theming.

If anything, the part where everyone has to sit and wait for all the cars to be re-organized back into a theater (that's the Radio Tower bit we're talking about, BTW, with a broadcast of news and weather spanning from prehistoric times until current time) could be re-done and made much more interesting.

Ok, if they were broadcasting news while they were rearranging the cars I totally missed that.

I love Carousel of Progress.

No. I love science but I just feel they could have done so much more with this attraction.

I just like the nice long air conditioned break. And I like STUPID JUDY! :lmao:

I'm curious now...what do you think would improve this attraction? Make it more interesting? What would make Universe of Energy a worthwhile stop on your touring of Epcot?

Let's come up with some cool ideas! Maybe Disney will listen. I know you are not the only one to feel this way...as I said, it's hardly ever crowded.

As many times as I have seen this, I am still in awe of the dinosaurs.
While exiting the dinosaur part, the strobe lights flashing are terribly annoying, though. The radio broadcast is boring - but that is precisely what I like about it. It becomes restful because it is boring.

We've never been on this ride! I wasn't sure if we were missing anything but the coolness sounds good for DH - is it really cold? if so I'll need a sweater :lmao:

I'm intrigued to see what it is all about, I love science and history - I wish there were a few more slow paced attractions that taught you something.

I'll let you know our opinions in May :thumbsup2

My family also loves this ride and we will often say "Stupid Energy! Stupid Judy!" whenever anyone messes something up or if my DS7 is scowling and I need to get him to smile. This is a must-do for our family each trip and we were all a little bummed it was still down last month when we were at WDW. I also love that it is educational and my DS7 has learned some things from it because it usually always sparks a conversation about dinosaurs, energy, energy waste and ways we can conserve energy.

Kathy, remember when you were talking about the Figment ride on the Podcast and how much you love it? That is the way the Ellen ride is for me. I get so much enjoyment out of it. I hope they never get rid of it. I love how in the face of adversity, everyone is so positive and they learn something. I just love the dinosaurs and the big bang. It's a must do for me!
