I'm currently planning our family trip which is including a trip to Universal. I was trying to find out what their policy is on bringing in outside food. My DS is a very picky eater so I usually have some PB&J sandwiches and some fruit in my backpack for him to eat. Will Universal allow me to bring that in? I know at Disney we never had an issue but we've never been to Universal before. I don't wanna end up having to throw my food away and then have nothing to satisfy my little DS with.

There is a bag search, but not for food. There is the issue of lugging around extra weight all day and having to use lockers before every ride.

It's totally fine (same guidelines as at WDW).

You can take bags on many rides, just not the biggies.

Bring Your Own Food
Youre also welcome to bring your own food with you if you prefer. Simply notify a Security Team Member performing the security bag check at the front gate that you or a member of your party has a food allergy/intolerance. Please do not bring glass, and items should be contained in a soft-sided cooler.

We just returned, and brought a soft lunch bag with chill packs, sandwiches, drinks and snacks almost daily for my picky son and veg hubby. Not a word from security, they were all great!
