My daughters are age 6 and 9. We have gone on many trips to WDW. my 9 year old loves rides like thunder mountain, everest, and dinosaur. we haven't convinced her to try rocking roller coaster or tower or terror yet. My 6 year old hates all of these rides; she sticks to winnie the pooh, buzz light year space ranger spin, and small world. My question is, will a couple days at universal be worth it for us? How many rides or other attractions would there be for my 6 year old to go on? TIA

Absolutely! Probably skip RRR, Hulk, Dueling Dragons and Mummy for the 6yo. She probably won't be tall enough to ride anyway. There is plenty to ride, explore and enjoy. I've been taking my kids since they were three. My oldest is now ten and was finally tall enough to ride everything during our last visit. My daughter is 5 and will also ride anything she is tall enough to ride. She got to ride rip saw falls during our last visit. My 3 yo can't ride a lot of the attractions but has a blast anyway and so do I. It's amazing watching the kids have so much fun! Go for it and have a blast!

We took our DDs aged 6 & 8 in May and we had a great time, I say go for it! We've done Disney 3 times so wanted to try something different this trip, and it was fun experience. We found Universal to be more thrilling, Disney more magical. We found one day in each park was enough to cover everything we were interested in. Depending on the height of your 9 yr old she may not be able to ride some of the bigger rides like Hulk, Rip Rocket, etc. just check the Universal website for ride restrictions and plan accordingly. We found there is still plenty of engaging rides for everyone to enjoy together. We did NOT have express pass or early entry as we stayed offsite. We arrived at rope drop and toured for about 7-8 hours.

I took mine to IoA only when they were 7 and 10. We had FOL passes and got around everything in a day. The 10 year old went on everything but my 7 year old DD didn't do anything 'scary' apart from Spider Man. We mainly went though to see the new Harry Potter area (it was new at IoA then). We haven't been back since but are staying onsite next month for 5 nights. They are now 13 and 16 and are more excited about the two Universal parks than Disney where we will move onto for 14 nights after our days at Universal. We have 14 day tickets for Universal/IoA and I suspect may be driving back over from Disney a few times!!!! I certainly think these parks are aimed primarily at the 10 plus age group personally but there is plenty for a 6 and 9 year old to enjoy.
