Universal with a 1-year old

Do 1-year olds receive free admission like at Disney? Is it worth it to spend 1-day at both parks with an infant? We haven't been to Universal in a few years and I would like to see the new addition of Diagon Alley. We will have our own stroller so our baby girl could nap in the stroller. We wouldn't spend the whole day, just see what we want to see and then leave. It seems there are many shows/play areas that an infant would enjoy. Worth it or too much?

Yes, a 1 year old gets in free. On the Islands of Adventure side there was only ONE ride my 1 year old could ride, the carousel. He could also go through the Poseidon's Adventure thing (his expression of sheer "WHOOOOOAAA" when he woke up from a nap inside that swirly water tube thing was priceless!).

That's it on that side. He did like getting his picture taken with Rogue and Storm as well. All the other Dr. Suess stuff is for much older kids. We never went to the other side so I can't comment on kid activities over there.

Yes it's free for the under-3 kids.
If the adults want to go, go. There are areas for her to get out and play a little bit, watched over by you guys of course. Child swap at universal is done right near the seating of the ride, so the family doesn't split up outside the ride like at Disney.

Kids that age are free.If the main focus is to go for yourself, yes.Universal is great.. There are several play areas though they are generally geared towards kids that are a little older( just like Disney, little ones/new walkers can get trampled over ).The Barney show is cute for little ones..Unlike Disney though, there aren't many rides where you can ride with a handheld infant/child.
