Sooo, just wondering...how does the Universal water park stack up to the Disney water parks?

We bought a week pass for Universal and wondering if we also need to buy disney water park tickets. We have been to Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon and loved it. Will we be disappointed?

Universal owns wet n Wild. Thats it. No other water parks. They dont operate Wet N Wild. So, therefore, its not upto the normal Universal standards. The themeing is not there, and the rides are pretty much the same. They're fun....but they're not near as immersive as the disney parks slides are. There is no ride like Crush n Gusher at WnW.
My opinion, wait til Aquatica opens.

As far as the rides at Wet n Wild, they do have some pretty unique one of a kind rides, check out their website and you'll see. They also have a knee ski attraction where you go around their lake.As far as rides go they get an A from me,but I agree that if you're looking for Disney theming it ain't there, theming gets a C-.And yes Sea World's Aquatica will be worth a visit for everyone who visits Orlando when the park opens next year!!

Wet n Wild predates Universal (70's) and is a pretty standard park compared to Disney's. That said, it is still worth going to if you enjoy water parks. Just don't expect the same themed experience.

Rumors state that Universal wants to build their own park on property.

The rumor is that Wet n Wild leases their property and it's getting expensive and eventually Wet n Wild will move most of their attractions onsite at Universal with a more themed waterpark, even though Universal property doesn't have all the room in the world to expand I'm sure they'll find a space.

As others mention, there is no water park at Universal. While the parent company also owns Wet 'n Wild, your Universal pass probably does not gain you assess to that attraction (I think the Orlando Flex Ticket includes US/IOA, W'nW, and some others).
There's no real theming at W'nW, but when my oldest daughters went with friends when they were teenagers they really liked it - and it's less expensive than the Disney water parks. However, my youngest DD (now 16) has been going to BB and TL since she was 5 and doesn't care in the least about W'nW, though she likes the Busch Gardens' owned water parks in Tampa and Williamsburg.
I'd suggest that if the theming and the landscaping have added to the enjoyment that you've had at BB and TL then you might be a bit disappointed in W'nW. But if it's the rides that get you going, then W'nW might not be a bad change of venue.
