We were 4 siblings ranging in age from 45 to 60 years who spent 2 days at Universal; day 1 at Island Adventure and Universal Studios and day 2 at US.
We enjoyed ourselves VERY much. Our favourite rides at IA was Spiderman (amazing) which we went on twice, got off it the lst time, and walked around and went on it again as there was no lineup and Jurassic Park scared us but we went on it twice as well; it was great. Sinbad show was great. Disappointed with Posidon's (name escapes me). Suess Land was great; we rode the trolley and The Cat in the Hat!! Didn't dare go on the rollercoasters. As we had seen everything we wanted to see at IA, we headed to US. We had planned on doing some of the water rafting rides but it was rather chilly that day and didn't want to be wet and cold....
Between day 1 and day 2, we managed to visit just about every attraction at US. Jaws was not working those days which was disappointing because 12 years ago, I was there with my family and it was not working at that time either. Our favourite new rides were:
"Revenge of the Mummy" which we did twice (we felt a little queasy after the 2nd trip) - it was amazing. Terminator is not to be missed. We loved the classic rides like ET and and Back to the Future (glad it was still up and running - but try and sit in the front seat - the back is a bit jarring for older bones). Earthquake, Men in Black, and Twister were just ok. Jimmy Neutron was great and all the shows, animal show, Blues Brothers, Beetlejuice, etc., were all well done. Shrek was well done too. Horror makeup show was very enjoyable.
We had a great time, lots of photos and good memories.
The only negative experience was that I had trouble getting my 3 passes
that I had booked on line. The dispenser would not except my credit card so I had to go the courtesy counter to get my passes and thank goodness, I had brought some identification. My brother said that it may have been due to the fact that my card was Canadian. He had booked his on line as well but he had an American credit card (he lives in Florida 7 mths of the year)and he had no trouble. It could be too that my card was cancelled as in Canada BMO has been cancelling cards because someone got into the data base of Winners/Home Sense, but have been slow in telling people. I will check into that this week. I also encountered problems with the finger printing at the gate - never worked the 2 days I was at the park.
All in all it was a great trip. We stayed at the Fairfield Inn, and took the shuttle to the park both days. Great service. The hotel staff, room, etc, were very satisfactory.
On a scale of 10, we give the park a 9.5.....
