Ok arrived in orlando on may 30th. checked in nick hotel that day, awesome hotel ! next day headed over to universal to get the tickets. i bought the buy one get one child ticket free offer. and for anyone else who got these, all the tickets are the same ! i don't know how they could tell a child or adult used which one. i got the AP for me and dd11 and dh used the two adult ones and my son age 6 used another. and you just swiped em and that was it. read it as a 5 day ticket. nothing more. anyways, it was raining that morning and we headed over to NBA City for lunch after getting our tickets. the rain slacked off and so we decided to head into the park. islands of adventure first. hit spiderman first. :lovestruc this ride. the kids didn't like it. matter of fact the only ride the kids did like was popeye barge ride. (i have wusses for kids i guess) to make a long report short-the entire week that we were there it rained. we bought the ponchos and sported em like everyone else. the crowds were not bad at all. our longest wait for any ride was about 15 minutes. and we got there around 10 am every morning. had to be the weather is all i could figure. also they had alot of problems with some of the water rides. the rip saw falls had closed twice while we were there. and the popeye one had to shut down for a bit one day. the dueling dragons had shut down saturday for a little while also. had the AP and used it everywhere i could. came in quite handy :teeth:
my favorite ride was the Mummy !!!!!!!!! OMG ! I road this about 7 times. Couldn't ride it more because the kids didn't even want inside the child swap area. The noises scared them enough. I wish the weather could have been better, but if I had to trade in the rain for sun and tons more people I think I choose the rainy weather. We weren't even supposed to leave Orlando til today but we left yesterday morning. I did learn my lesson on booking hotel rooms. Don't take the cheap way !! I stayed at the best western movieland. Never again. From now on I will budget atleast 600-700 for a room. We spent the most time we could away from the hotel because when we would get back to it it smelled,(really rank), the a/c was loud, you could hear others going in and out of their rooms. Sometimes I could have sworn someone was coming into ours at night but it was just the room across the hall. So I learned my lesson. Cheap isn't best. I know you really aren't in the rooms much when on vacations but when the weather is awful, if you are somewhere nice you don't mind at all heading back to the room. Our nick suite was a castle compared to this hotel. Close to the parks but that was about the best part of it. :guilty:
We rode everything within 3 days, that includes all the shows too. Even saw the fear factor show the first showing they did. Pretty fun. Loved the Horror make up show and beetlejuice show. That vampire was a cutie. :cool1:
Parks were a blast even with the crappy weather.

Glad to hear you like Mummy so much. I missed the opening of Mummy by a couple of days last year. :sad1: But, I'll be back in late September and it's the first ride I plan on running to. That's great that you guys still had a blast even with the crappy weather. Thanks for the report! :)

glad you had a good time,we were there the week before you and I have never been to orlando for a week with out rain , but we had just that, I almost missed that liquid sunshine :rotfl: , your kids sound
like my neice , nephew the first time we took them they were scared of the turnstiles!
thanks for the report.

Good report. Glad you had fun in the rain too. We did IOA for a "water ride" day on Memorial Day. It was hot! We had FOTL so we rode Popeye 6 times in a row until ride attendants appeared disgusted at our re-riding. During the rains (mainly Universal) I sported a HRH rain coat and a red Dudley Do-Right's Mountie hat. I looked like a geek but the hat worked better than trying to carry an umbrella.
We stayed at BW Movieland 3 years ago for Spring Break week. Our room was in front overlooking Wet and Wild. It had a slight mildew smell and DD was having allergy problems. It sounds like it has gone downhill since. Thats a problem when you have window A/C units in Florida.
Glad you had fun in the parks anyway.
