Hi all!

We just finished our Universal portion of our trip. Had a blast! We stayed at the Drury Inn for two nights, one upon arrival from Boston and than one when we got ourselves stocked up and ready to hit the parks. We checked into the Royal Pacific Hotel around 8:00am and no one else was there. We received our instructions to get our express passes and checked in our bags. We went to Universal Studios first...walked from the lobby in probably 10 minutes...maybe less.

Despicable Me was our first ride and longest wait of the day...maybe 20 minutes. Enjoyed the ride! Next we did Transformers and basically walked right on...5 minute wait max. This was our favourite ride! I get motion sick and with meds only had one small moment of feeling queasy, but the ride was worth it.

We than did Mummy and Men in Black. Had pizza lunch in Springfield. Enjoyed the new stuff and looked it all over. Saw a Flaming Moe's (very cool looks like it is still smoking) and walked thru Moe's Tavern. Made the kids go on E.T. and they were bored but it brought back memories from my childhood!
The girls did RRR and there was no wait. Walking out of park saw wait time for DM was 140 min...and it was hot!! People looked like they were melting.

I had Froggy Toggs with me cut into strips and they helped us with the heat. I wore all Dri-weave clothes and felt it made a huge difference. Although I felt I had sweat on every part of my body, I didn't feel overheated.

We than went back to the hotel. We rode the boat back and our tired feet love the ride. But our room was in tower 2 so it seemed like a long walk to our room. Our room had been ready for a few hours. I didn't really like the room. You could hear every noise from the hallway. Pretty disappointing for a high end hotel...paper thin walls as well.

We walked back to IoA for a 5pm dinner at Mythos. Not busy at all. We enjoyed our meals...I had the Risotto of the day (corn, bacon, cheesy sauce) which was very good. We walked around Cat in the Hat area and bought cookies as they girls loved them on our last trip. Than headed back to the hotel as we hoped to make early entry the next day.

We made it to the park the next morning by 7:30am...which is good for teenagers! We hit HP and enjoyed the walk through the castle and the ride. Next the girls hit the roller coasters in HP. We looked in all the shops. We did not do Olivanders as we had done it on a previous trip and they had all the wands they wanted. We walked through JP and did the river ride. Than we hit the Hulk! Girls love, love the Hulk. We finished our shopping and left by 11am. We didn't hit every ride, we did what they wanted to do and really enjoyed our leisurely pace.

Overall Transformers was their favourite ride, but they love the roller coasters and that is why the love Universal.

I love the Express Pass and would definately stay on site for one night for the perks again. Might just try one of the other hotels.

Sounds like a great time. Do the express passes not help with the Harry potter ride that had the 140min wait?
