We have a trip planned this June and possibly another in 2011 during our kids spring break around March/April. I am debating whether to go with the $99 7 day 2 park ticket for this trip or to get the $139 annual pass (2 park power pass) which we could use for both trips. We would be taking a chance that this annual pass wouldn't have block out dates during our spring break trip next year but it would be very cost effective if we could use it both trips.

I have a couple questions. Does anyone know when the 2011 blockout dates will come out. Also do you get free parking with the 2 park power annual pass?

Actually I just noticed that the $139 pass is only for Fla residents and they don't offer that for non residents. The annual pass for us would be $229

I don't know if Orlando is the same as Hollywood Universal, but the annual passes (at least when we purchased them) were not good for 1 year from date of purchase they were good for all of that YEAR. Like all of 2010, not April 2010 to April 2011.

I don't remember about parking.

Unfortunately, the $99/7-day price appears to no longer be available. Guess I waited too long!

Annual passes are valid for a year from the activation date...not purchase date. You could buy it now but not activate it until later in the year...that's when your time would start.

Only the Premier and Preferred AP's offer free parking...the Power Passes do not cover parking or any type of discount.

I'm a Florida Resident considering an AP for Universal. I've been looking at the Premier and Preferred and I'm trying to figure out which offers the best bang for the buck. Any insight you can offer?

Unless you are a local, the Premier probably wouldn't be the best buy for you. One of the benefits...Express access after 4pm...is only good for you...not any friends/family that come with you...so that doesn't really do you any good. There is not much discount on the renewal rates for the Premier but the Preferred is $149.99 plus tax...which is up from $117.56 a year ago. I would stick with the Preferred so you can get free parking and discounts on food and merchandise in the parks. Also...if you go to HHN in the fall, the passholder discounts on tickets is excellent.

I'm pretty local, Universal is about 30 minutes from my house. That express access thing is tempting, because the only times I can go are evenings or weekend afternoons. I really wish that Universal would show some love for the locals and give us FOTL access with Resident passes-why would I stay at the hotel when I live 30 minutes away?

Not having Express access doesn't bother me too much. The after 4pm Express access is a temptation but it's really only valuable in the summer and during really busy times. The free HHN ticket doesn't do much for me since I buy the Frequent Fear pass every year and most people I go with, get the same.

I'm hoping Universal puts together an awesome passholder preview for Harry Potter...hopefully after hours. I can always hope I guess. ;)

I'm joining you in that hope. I pass that thing every day on the way home from work and I can't wait to get in there.

I know...it's been fun watching it grow. I wasn't living here when IOA was built but have been here to see WWoHP go up.
