Universal ticket promo 3d for 2d price--can I save these tickets?

Hi all
Never been to Universal before. We are thinking of going to Universal this fall or spring for HP. Do tickets expire, or can I save them like WDW tickets(excepting the new 1 d WDW ticket policy)? TIA!

tickets won't expire unless it is a special and has an ending date for them

there are some buy 2 get a 3rd day free tickets that expire with a date listed.

just read before you buy to make sure the tickets you are buying, don't have a limitation

It depends on where you get them from...some of the 'free' extra day offers have the extra day expire. The last one I saw had the expiration date of May 31st. I know there are 3rd party sites that offer an extra day with no expiration. Once the first day of the ticket has been used, you normally have to use the remaining days within 14 days. If no days are used, then they don't expire (with the already noted exception of some 'free' days).

as mentioned above holds true. right now universal (and undercover tourist) have a buy a 2 day hopper get 1 day free. those tickets expire may 31 end of story. no extensions - must be used by may 31. undercover tourist also has a buy 2 get 1 free park hopper that follows the standard no expire until 14 days after first use. they also (as of last friday) have buy three non hoppers get 1 day free

I bought both my Universal (purchased 2/13/16) and WDW (purchased 2/27/16) tickets from Undercover Tourist. Both had promos.

Universal had buy 2-day park-to-park get 3rd day free. WDW had buy 4-day hopper get 5th day free. Universal had two different tickets you could buy under their promo through Undercover Tourist: One was about $4 cheaper per ticket than the other promo but expired in full by 5/31/2016. The other one did not have an expiration date listed (I bought the one without an expiration date listed as my trip is 2017).

As others have said pay attention to the ticket you buy. Make sure there is no fine print that says it must be used in full by X date/expiration date listed.
