Universal ticket discount with Power Pass

We are getting one Power Pass just to get the hotel discount. However, in reading the benefits of the Power Pass it says you can get a 10% discount on tickets bought at the front gate. So I'm guessing it would be best to not buy our other ticket in advance and just use the Power Pass to get a discount on my husbands regular park-to-park 3 day ticket?

In theory, but it seems that there are often much better deals than the 10% off on other sites sometimes

I spoke with someone over the phone at Universal. You can receive a 10% discount on the purchase of a multi-day ticket off of the gate price. When you purchase them over the phone, the agent can set them up for Will Call Kiosk pick-up. For your convenience, they have Will Call Kiosks located in the lobby of all the on-site hotels and at the entrance to either park. You will swipe the debit or credit card used for payment, enter your confirmation number and the tickets will print out. It's fast and easy

Like others have mentioned, just remember the discount is off of gate price. Gate price is $20 more expressive than online price for multiday tickets. So, it may be cheaper to buy elsewhere.
