Universal Superstar Character Breakfast, anyone been?

Has anyone been to the Superstar character Breakfast in Universal Studios?
Would love to hear what its like. Thinking of doing the meal plan on our first day at IOA and then getting the latest possible reservation at the character breakfast on the second day.

We did it last August and it was good enough but wouldnt repeat.

The characters spent ages with the kids which was great, the best ones there were Spongebob and Squidward and a minion with Gru. The other characters were Dora and Diego and the rabbits from Hop.

My kids were 12,11 and 9 at the time and would imagine younger kids would enjoy Dora and Diego a bit more. Also with the exception of Squidward I think it would be easy enough to meet the characters in the park.

The food was fine but is served pre plated, I think we chose one of each option offered and got a good variety of food to share but its not as good as a buffet for variety, however it was nice not having to get up and down to get food all the time.
