Is there an accessible bus between Disney and Universal studios. My family is planning on going and I would like to join them. I will be renting an ECV and we don't have an accessible van.

Do you have a rental car that the ECV can be broken down and put in the trunk? If not I would suggest looking at Alamo or National rentals from the car care center on Disney property and see if that cost would be doable. You don't need a accessible van if your ECV can be broken down. I fit mine in the trunk of a Ford Fusion last year with no issues and I was able to get the car for $10 a day with a Thursday to Sunday rental. If you watch the prices you can get them quite cheap.

I don't know of any buses, but I'm sure there is someone on here who would know.

My mom and I will both be using ECVs and they won't both fit in the car - my parents are driving. Renting a van might work but a bus would be so much easier. :)

There are accessible vans operated by Lynx, which is the bus system in Central Florida. Lynx has door-to-door rides available by appointment with a cost of $4.00 per person/per ride. If you are certified for accessible transportation in your own city, then that is reciprocal wherever you visit in the US. As I am certified here in Orlando, I have used the city accessible transportation door-to-door service in Nevada, Chicago, and Wisconsin in the past. Even if you don't normally use busses where you live, you can still be certified to ride. You'll need to complete an application, have your physician sign it...and it can take several weeks to get the approval back.---Kathy

Do you need to have certification for accessible transportation to use the Lynx van? I wouldn't be eligible for certification.

To the best of my knowledge, Mears would be able to provide accessible transportation between USF and WDW. See MearsTransportation.com for a contact number.
