Hi everyone,

Just toying with the idea of doing a week at Universal Studios using the Orlando Flex Ticket and an on-site hotel (for the express lines!) so that we can also go to SeaWorld and their water park and Wet N' Wild.

I started looking at pricing and I was surprised to see that this is going to cost us more than staying at Disney World for seven days! And this doesnt even include food!

Anyone have any tips / suggestions. I really want to stay at an onsite hotel to use the express line. And my kids are thrill seekers and probably want to ride the roller coasters numerous times plus I have one huge Harry Potter fan who is dying to see WWoHP.

Thanks!

When are you planning on going? Purchasing one annual pass may give you really great discounts on rooms (up to 40%). Purchasing the other tickets from Maple Leaf tickets at $131/week (just for Universal) will also save some money. Doing a variety of parks is rarely cheaper than just sticking to one park.

Yeah..I guess...but I dont see us spending all 7 days at Universal. I mean..I guess we could.

Perhaps "do" Universal..and Seaworld (not really that interested in the water parks..but the kids are)

Hmm...maybe that would be a good idea.

Wow. 40% off hotel rooms..thats a lot!

I work in the school system..so we would be going around the not ideal times.
February Break? (around washington's birthday) or perhaps April Break (around Easter) or beginning of summer. Late June.

Is it really that mcuh better staying at the resort hotels? I have just got back from Orlando and stayed in the Best Western Gateway Hotel for a really reasonable rate of £40 a night via expedia (I tjink that works out around $64?) That was for a room with two double beds. Really nice hotel with a pool and jacuzi, tennis court, restaurant and cafe. We were only in Orlando for four full days and in that time we saw everything we wanted to see at IoA, Universal,Seaworld and Aquatica. The hotel is opposite wet and wild so we could easily have done that too if we had an extra day. i can see why you would want to stay on site for the experience, but if you are concerned about cost I am sure you could stay off site and do all you want to do :).

Check the dates and rates 2010 thread over in the Universal resorts board to see what rates were this year. You can also check annual pass room rates for the rest of this year by going to www.loewshotels.com, clicking promotions on the drop down box and typing APH as the code.
