we are going to Disney the first week of December and we are going to take one day for both Universal parks. We were there in June so we know which rides we like which will help. In December I know the parks normally close at 6 so we are trying to decide if we need to get the Express pass or note or if lines would really even be an issue. Should we bother with the Express passes or not?

Now there are only 9 rides we really HAVE to go on. 3 of which are roller coasters DH will be riding alone which have single rider lines(he got on right away in June so I am sure in Dec he would as well). There are only 2 I think would have long lines which is Simpsons because it was an hour wait in June but also that was peak season and it was brand new so it may not be as bad this Dec. The other is the new roller coaster ride opening this year although DH will also be riding that alone and it may also have a single rider line.

I personally don't think that you'll need the express passes (particularly if you get there when the parks open to do ride what you most want to ride).

Have you considered staying onsite for one night? You can get there first thing that morning (before the park even opens if you want to) and check you baggage with them (they have a special place just for that). The next day, even though you check out, again you just leave your baggage checked with them.

Just the one night will give you two full days of unlimited front of the line access (using your room key). We stayed at the Royal Pacific in November 2007, and while we would have been okay without it, the FOTL perk was really nice!

Early December is not usually busy so I think you would be OK without the EP for that day. If you feel the lines are getting too long, you can always purchase the EP at either park.

If you have any other specific questions, come over to the Universal boards on the DIS. We would be happy help you!
:teeth:

No we don't want to stay onsite especially with the cost of a room at universal we have disney booked for $49/night. And I am going midweek so I don't like changing hotels we just rent a car and go up first thing in the morning. I was thinking we should be fine as well I have never been there in December but I know it's low season so it shouldn't be to bad. Where are the Universal boards? I looked for them and could not find them..

Nevermind I am blind I found them lol. I think when I was looking it had me only in the Disney boards and the lower ones weren't there.

We usually go the first week of Dec as well. You won't need Express Pass then. When we went this past Dec Duelling Dragons, Revenge of the Mummy and the Hulk were all 10 min waits for most of the day. We usually go during the week, but this year we also went on a Sunday. That was bad! As long as you are going mid-week you won't have any problems with the possible exception of the Simpson's, which you already anticipated.

Let's not forget the opening of the HR3 this summer. That line is gonna make all the other pale in comparsion. :sad2:

Ok I was thinking we would be fine. If all the lines are short it will be a breeze. Yeah I anticipate the Simpsons and then of course the new Rip, Ride Rock it Coaster will definetly have a lone wait(I am hoping for a single rider line though cause that could cut that wait down drastically) . I am glad to hear we will be good.
