Look at this from screamscape.com:
Universal Studios Germany? - (8/25/02) While nothing official has come from Universal yet in any form, it seems a German newspaper claims that the park has received some kind of approval from the city at last and they are ready to move forward with the project for a hopeful 2005/2006 opening date. They expect the park could receive 3.5-4 million guests each year.
(5/24/02) Along with the announcement about new attractions for the Hollywood and Orlando parks, a Universal spokesperson also admitted that they are indeed looking into building parks elsewhere in the world due to the runaway success of Universal Studios Japan. (3/16/02) Some new artwork for the Universal project has surfaced after the city counsel has given their okay on the project. It seems the whole project may cost about $1 billion and in addition to the theme park it would include a large parking structure, a Citywalk entertainment mall, conference center, two hotels (1000 rooms total), and Aquadom... an indoor waterpark.
