Universal Park Hours

Don't know when they did it but they do still have IOA open til 9 on june 27

I did see the hours for IOA.:thumbsup2 I would actually prefer shorter park hours if the crowds are lighter - but I am thinking the worse for crowds on a Saturday in late June, with the chance that HR3 opening close to this date. I do like being in the parks after sunset, but the sunset is not until around 9:00 in late June.

I see were you are coming from and I am keeping my fingers crossed that they will bump up the hours :thumbsup2

I've seen Park Hours extended by an hour the day of. Not sure how Universal makes that call but I've seen it done early in the morning with the park hours sign in Royal Pacific stating the day's park hours.

I've seen the same thing happen. Sometime the hours are extended that morning.

We arrive this Saturday and just noticed that the US closing time moved from 8pm to 10pm. Its a Mardi Gras night and Kelly Clarkson is the concert. Does the time change mean that the parade and then concert won't start until 10pm??! Or will those stay at 8pm and they're just posting a more "realistic" closing time? :confused3

I'll be there! I'm thinking they are open later because of the HUGE crowd that will be there to see her perform. The parade will still probably start around 8pm or so but the concert won't start until 9:00ish...I'm guessing.

The closing time is usually set for when the rides close. It sounds like some of the rides will be open until 10:00 PM rather than closing down at 8:00 PM. On the FAQ page for Mardi Gras it also states that the rides are open during park hours. So since the closing is now 10:00 PM the rides will be open until then.

The parade is at 8:00 PM. I checked the website and it said: PARADE TIMES: MARDI GRAS EVENT NIGHTS ONLY
DATES TIMES
Feb 7 - Mar 28 8:00 p.m.
Apr 4, 11 & 18 9:00 p.m.

They have November and December up also. The days that I will be there they close at 5:00 PM. :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

That is so early.:guilty:

:scared1::scared1::scared1: 5:00PM :scared1::scared1::scared1:That IS early! We are going in June, parks closed at 7:00. I guess I should be thankful isn't not 5:00. I'm still hopeful they will extend the hours at least one day. I would love to ride the rides at night!

We're planning to do a 2park, 1 day pass Express Plus Pass on June 23 (a Tuesday). The last time we were in the Orlando area (June 2006), we did the same thing. We got to the gate just after opening and were able to get through both parks with that front of the line pass by 6pm. I only remember because we had a reservation and tickets to go to the Pirates Dinner Adventure that same day and had to be there by 6:30pm.

The park is supposed to close at 8pm when we're there but I doubt we'd stay until closing anyway. We're staying on-site at a WDW resort and we plan to go back go the hotel to either swim or hit up a Disney park. I hear that it's hard as heck to get out of either Universal Park, (and Disney Parks for that matter) at closing so we always leave before then.

i was just coming to post the same thing about park hours..we are going in Sept. and the park closes at 6pm -

I'm glad to read that the other person was able to do both parks in 1 day..

we are planning to arrive at the HRH about 2 or 3 after leaving Disney on a WEdnesday 9/2- will check in then probably hit Universal for a couple of hours till it closes..

the following day we want to hit IOA and do the bkfast buffet w/the characters - does this open b4 the park? i'll try to make an early reservation like 8a. we'll spend the day at IOL

Friday we'll hit Universal for the day - was planning to go to the pool in the morning...maybe we should go after the park...is the water nice n warm?

Saturday we'll be checking out, but our flight is not till about 7p so we have the day to hit either park for a few hours and have a swim....

What good restaurants can you recommend at CityWalk? it will be me DH and our two boys 7 & 9.

I would say either NASCAR, Hard Rock or Margaritaville. All three are excellent choices.
