My oldest turns 11 next year and I want to surprise her with an owl from Hogwarts and a trip to Universal.
For once the stars have aligned and DH can take vacation the weekend the kids are on spring break which is of course, Easter weekend. We'd be able to fly down on Good Friday and fly home the Tuesday after Easter. I am looking to do 2 days in a Universal Hotel for FOTL since I am assuming it will be super busy and then 2 nights at a DVC resort since we are owners and will have points to use. The DVC days will most likely just be pool time/relaxing, maybe one park day or water park day. How insane is Easter Weekend at Universal if you are staying onsite with FOTL? I know it won't help with Harry Potter, but hoping two early access mornings will get us through the bulk of that.
Would it be better to have our 2 nights be Good Friday and the Saturday before Easter - meaning parks on Good Friday, the Saturday before Easter and Easter Sunday or is it better to start our stay on Easter Sunday and then stay the Monday and Tuesday after? Either way we'll lose half a day to travel.....
Our other option would be to go in June, but we hate, hate, hate the heat. How different are the crowds over Spring Break vs summer? Hoping for much better weather in April.
