I am going to be there 7/3 & 7/4 I know the worst time to go!!! But I have no choice. Which line is the single rider line -the Universal Express line? & Which rides at both parks have the single rider line? I might have to purchase the Universal Express because I might not be staying on site. I have purchased it once before in 2006. Do they still mark off your Express pass card before you enter the line? Because when I used the purchased Express pass in 2006 sometimes they didn't mark it or initial it so I was able to go back to the Express line for a re-ride later. I'm not sure how strict they have gotten or how much it's changed. & Do the Express lines reach 30 min around a holiday like the 4th Of July? Thanks so much!

If I remember correctly there is a separate entrance for the single riders and it is not the express pass line. I remeber three lines for Men In Black. I am sure some one else will be able to give you more info. I would think the purchased express pass would work like the unlimited one with staying on-site. They now scan the cards at the entrance and futher in line - since they scan them you won't be able to reenter the line again as the scanner will note that you have already use it for the ride.

If the ride has single rider it will be posted at the front.

There will be:

Entrance: Regular line

Express Pass: Purchased Express pass and hotel guests

Single Rider: No need to explain this one, except you will be split up if you are in a party.

Now the hotel Express is unlimited and now is a photo ID. The purchased Express varies on what you want.

1. Single use Express: Only one time through the Express line per ride.
2. Unlimited Express: Just like the hotel Express pass.

Now the prices vary depending on your dates, peak or slow times, and which parks or both.

Now that is said, we go over 4th of July each year. We will be there again this year for 9 days onsite at RPR. I will tell you I would never do it anyway else. It is crazy busy like spring break and Christmas week. If you can afford it just stay one night to get 2 days of Unlimited Express and early entry.:thumbsup2

What rides have the single rider lines at the Magic Kingdom & Hollywood Studios? & Are they the Fast Pass line?

I remember Men in black and Spiderman have single rider lines, any other rides?

Am going in July so know it is going to be packed!

DH and I were just there and used it many times! We even got seated together about 80% of the time. In addition to the ones you named, we used it on Harry Potter FJ, Rip Ride Rocket, the Mummy-I think, they probably have it for Hulk but didn't ride this tme. It was great!

You're asking on the wrong board...try the Disney side.

I'm moving this thread to the main board to get more responses.

I'm going to combine this thread with another that's on the same subject.

I will also be at Disney World 7/5/12(NOT my choice & I had no say in planning this trip!) I am stuck choosing between the Magic Kingdom & Hollywood Studios. I will have been at Universal 7/3 & 7/4-I am trying to get my mom to stay on site for at least 1 night & been trying to explain the benefits of staying on site since it’s just me going to the parks. We have stayed on site 3 times before at the Portofino -she only likes the Portofino but since the price has gone up I’m not sure if we will be staying there & off site which I don’t want to do. She doesn’t understand holiday theme park crowds & waits. I can’t explain anymore because she will tell me to be quiet. Disney we won’t be staying on site for the 1 day I’ll be at Disney. Which of the 2 Disney parks should I do? I wish I had 2 days at Disney but I don’t. I’ve been to the Magic Kingdom 3 times & Hollywood Studios twice. But only been on Splash Mountain ONCE! But the Disneyland version several times. I am a thrill seeker adult. I like both parks but it’s so hard to choose. It will really be packed at Disney you can hardly move 7/5? & Fast passes run out by Noon? :(

Also remember that the effectiveness of the single rider line varies based on how the ride itself is configured. Men in Black is the best because the ride has three across setting (like Test Track) which means that they have lots of 3rd seats to fill. Many of the others have an even number of seats, so it can be a while before a group with an odd number of guests comes through the line (though with some of the rides with four across seating they may occasionally use pairs of single to fill a row it the regular line is full of larger groups).

It's official I am not staying on site anywhere at Universal & won't have any sort of Express Pass during 7/3 & 7/4. :( My mom won't pay that kind of money. I am the only one going to the parks. Has anyone gone there around 7/3 & 7/4 & how bad are the waits? I am really nervous. I don't think my parents will let me get there at 8am opening. Not sure what time I'll get there -something like 10am at the latest. Are the lines real long starting at 10am? & Are the single rider lines usually open around then? How good is the single rider line for the Hulk? I love the Hulk. Is it possible I can ride the Hulk something like 5 times in a row with no wait in the single rider line same with Spiderman & Dudley? I love those rides. Also isn't there a single rider line for Jurassic Park,Dueling Dragons, & Popeye? I really hope there is. & Is the Mummy & Hollywood Rip Ride Rocket single line short so I can ride several times? I know Men In Black works very well you get right on. & Are the parks/rides open in downpours/thundershowers?

We will be there and have been many times for July 4th week. It is a zoo!:scared1:

It's very busy and hot along with most summer days.

Its open rain or shine, thunder and lighting will shut down outdoor rides.

Other than Men in Black, the other single rider lines probably will be hit or miss. The good news on 7/3&4 is that the park should be fully staffed, with the park wanting to get as many people though each ride as possible. The possible bad side of 7/3&4 is that once the lines get very, very long (and they do on really busy days), entire groups of people will get in the single rider lines to try to get everyone on the ride in a shorter time than the regular line--and each and every family in the park will have their own wait point at which they will try the single rider line instead of the regular line. I think you should be prepared that the single rider line at some times during these days may be almost at long as regular lines, just in case. I would also try to arrive as early as possible and/or return at the very end of the day, when the line probably will be most manageable.

I am so screwed! & It's all my mom's fault for not staying on site. :( I've tried to tell her about the crowds & the benefits & that staying on site is a must around a holiday but she won't listen. :( We have stayed on site 2001, 2002, 2003. It was so nice flashing my room key card walking on all rides. But not anymore. Those stupid rates got so high we can't afford it. :( Do you think if I say I am a single rider to the attendant at the Express line they will see I'm by myself & let me through even though I have no Express ticket? & What should I do first. I'm thinking Jurassic Park then Dudley & Popeye & then the Hulk & Spiderman. I think getting soaked in the morning will keep me cool the rest of the day since it will be boiling hot. I almost don't want to go since the crowds sound terrible. It's the only time I can go since this trip to Orlando is for my birthday & my mom works at a school.

You are going to have a great time. Don't let the number of times you get to ride determine how great your two days will be!

Sorry but no you will not be allowed in the Express line. It is not up to the employee. They have to scan your card, no card to scan no access.

The following rides have single rider lines (SRL) at Universal:

Mummy
MIB
Rockit (this one is hit-or-miss, as the line can fill/close quickly)
Doctor Doom
Hulk (sometimes open, ask at the front)
Spider-Man (same as Hulk)
Ripsaw Falls (same as Hulk)
Forbidden Journey

I just found this forum on here and I am going to Universal in a couple months and was wondering what rides will save the most time using the single rider line??

MiB
Forbidden Journey
Gringotts
Spiderman
Transformers
Mummy
Hulk

RRR has a single rider line, but it moves slowly.
Kong claims to have a single rider line but it didn't for all 5 days I was there.

Gringotts misses significant backstory via single rider line. I would strongly recommend going through the line for a first ride. Ideally, the FJ line is interesting as well, with little sets and movies to set up the ride - but not as much as the Gringotts line (single rider skips the elevator part and brings you straight to the loading platform).

MiB single rider line is consistently effectively a walkon. The rest (except RRR and Hulk) are very fast typically - 5min or so. You can hit them badly at times, but it's uncommon. Gringotts sometimes gets a longer wait, and it's on a spiral staircase. And obviously at busier times It'll be a little longer.

Since this thread is close to 7 years old, follow what CAPSLOCK posted

It’s current info

Some SRL’s rides bypass a portion of the line walk thru and you miss seeing some great highlights of the story line

Mummy is one where you want to do the regular line
